Daimajin remastered?

Hello,

It looks like adv remastered the first daimajin movie. On there site it says it's
anamorphic.I have the box set that came out a couple of years ago and I was dissapointed with the video quality. Has anyone scored this remastered version? I hope the video is much improved.

Thanks,
jg

I'd also like to know if it's truly anamorphic. I just got the box in December. It's not bad but could really use anamorphic enhancement.

I purchased the previous set and they were definately NOT animorphic prints. Perhaps their latest edition is. If you are interested, the R2 discs are anamorphic and sport English subs as well. They are about $45 per film and available @ cdjapan. I just picked up all three and thought I might share the wealth. Enjoy

According to the back of the box it is anamorphic. It states 1.85:1 anamorphic, but I think they may be referring to how it would look on a widescreen set. The other 2 films are arriving anamorphically in April and May. Glad to see somebody else enjoys these films.

Buckee, looks like you just threw away 135 dollars. This first film is available in some Best Buy stores and from their website for 9.99. I imagine the other 2 will be as well. 30.00 for all 3 films isn't bad.

I would love to see screenshot comparisons of the two releases (box set and newer single disc release). I have the older "Trilogy" release, and I'm wondering whether or not it's worth upgrading.

I do love these three movies, but they sure could use an anamorphic upgrade. I do like the ADV box though, maybe I'll just keep that and put the new discs in it.
