Anyone getting the 2-disc silverado set?

street date of april 5th. looks like they have changed the cover art and added the following to the two-disc set: new featurette including an exclusive interview with Kevin Costner - new commentary - "making of" documentary - best western shootouts hosted by John Cleese - superbit prensentation - 16-page movie scrapbook and vintage playing cards in collectible western saloon box - and more... has a SRP of $19.94

or will you just hang on to your current one?

GoldenJCJ 02-05-05 05:24 PM

I never got around to buying the first release. I'll definately pick this one up. Nice MRP too.

PropagandaPanda 02-05-05 05:32 PM

Im getting this as well. But why not order it at DVDsoon? They only charge you for CAD $15,98 (CAD $13,74 for fidelity members)

DarkGryphon 02-05-05 05:44 PM

I'm definitely getting this cause it'll be a personal birthday present to myself...
Sounds excellent for the price they're asking it for. I couldn't be happier.
Does it come in an amaray case inside of it or is it a digipak?

Mike Lowrey 02-05-05 06:28 PM

I've got the original release, but because this one is a Superbit release, I may have to upgrade, especially at this low price.

Max Bottomtime 02-05-05 06:29 PM

Maybe the've fixed the one problem I have with that film. At 49:12 there is a disolve between scenes. Before the first scene completely fades, it cuts off. It's the little things that bother me the most. :D

JOE29 02-05-05 08:06 PM

I'm a big westren movie fan, but I've never seen this movie yet. So I don't have the origional release but I will be picking up the SE when it comes out.

dbmottle 02-05-05 08:18 PM

how can it have a commentary if it's a superbit release?

Dmacsg1 02-05-05 08:34 PM

WOW!!!

Didn't know this was a superbit!! I have the original but will gladly do the ol' doubledip for a better release!!

:thumbsup:for the headsup!!

Take care all!!

ShagMan 02-05-05 11:00 PM

I'm sticking with the previous release.

Doctor Gonzo 02-05-05 11:01 PM

nightmaster 02-05-05 11:12 PM

If it's a superbit release it would be a steal at that price.

talemyn 02-05-05 11:13 PM

I just may upgrade to the 2-disc release. I love the movie and it'd be nice to have a better versions with a few fun features (I would have preferred more . . . specifically more involvement from the rest of the cast).

If you are a western fan, this movie belongs in your collection. It is an awesome movie (even with Jeff Fahey) with good characters and belongs in the upper echelon of rewatchable, great westerns.

Mountain Biker 02-06-05 12:13 AM

I love this movie (one of my top 10 fave westerns) so I'm definitely in!

I wonder if they will keep the featurette from the original disc (approximately 35 minutes long) - I hate when they drop features on re-issue/upgrades. Here is what is listed for the new set:

DVD FEATURES

• Widescreen Presentation
• Languages: English (5.1 / DTS), French
• Subtitles: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Thai
• Exclusive New Featurette: A Return to Silverado with Kevin Costner
• Along the Silverado Trail: A Western Historians Commentary
• Superbit Presentation
• Top Western Shootouts Featurette
• Talent Files
• Bonus Previews
• Exclusive Scrapbooklet
• Collectible Silverado Playing Cards
• 2-Disc Set!

Love this movie, so I'll be double dipping for sure.
At this price, with these features and the cards to boot it's a no brainer for me.

freudguy 02-11-05 09:26 AM

I put off getting it when originally released due to the misframing issue and never got around to buying it. I will be getting this one the day it's released, haven't seen it in a while.

Johnny Zhivago 02-11-05 01:15 PM

Yup, never got around to picking this one up, I'm looking forward to it.

Mike Lowrey 02-11-05 01:48 PM

Well, since I got the original release for about $10, this new Superbit release is a no-brainer.

Geofferson 02-11-05 01:52 PM

Thinking about it. Seems like a solid set.

rossbrew 02-11-05 01:55 PM

Nope- that movie sucks...

Welcome to the forum, however, you should probably read up on the rules around here. Your post is considered a "threadcrap" (the forum equivalent of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all") and is not allowed.
