Anyway, there is a bonus episode listed in what I thought were the Special Features. It's the director's cut of the never-before-available-on-DVD original Season 2 opener, "Re: Union". So for those who are questioning whether or not to get the Starburst Editions, just beware of some of the "special features" that you won't get on the original releases. |

I haven't made it to that particular episode, as I still have two regular episodes to go yet. So I can't comment on whether or not this is a full episode or what yet. It appears that this "episode" is like the original Star Trek "The Cage" while the internal episode episode "The Menagerie" had flashback clips to "The Cage" Apparently, "Re: Union" is a full length episode version of clips from episode "Dream a Little Dream". |
Checked Best Buy today and no luck. Maybe it's still kicking around out back and they haven't got around to putting it out yet! -pray-

Finally ordered the first 4 Starburst editions. Thank you DDD. Looking forward to all those special features.

The DDD 20% off sale makes this a pretty perfect time to pick these up!

All for about half what I sold my season 1 set for a few months back. Now THAT is what I call a "special feature"! |

Mine still hasnt been shiped out by amazon and its been released for 4 days now, gawd .
:brickwl2: but i guess I can wait. |
What exactly is "Farscape in the raw - scenes from never-before-released director's cuts of every episode in this collection"?
Are these just additional deleted scenes that were not on the original DVDs or have these scenes been reintegrated into the episodes? |
Ordered mine through DDD during the 20% off sale. Should get it this week. The hell with the B & M's!

As for the "Farscape in the Raw" special feature, I can't recall. That may have been one special feature I skipped. I think I started to view it, but didn't find it interesting enough to slog thru. Quite frankly, I found that the "special features" on this set weren't as good as the ones on the first season sets. They had the actor/actress video profiles, this one just has character text bios. -ohbfrank- |

Ok,well don't expect to watch them on the season 2 Starbursts as they aren't included among the special features for the latest volume like Mike Lowrey said. |
Will they eventually be releasing the Starburst Editions in Box Sets? (with these supposed extra features) Because I have all 4 season boxes right now, and that's the only real reason I could see to upgrade.
Of course at the current rate, I wouldn't have to worry about it for awhile anyways. |

I'm not following the logic either. The new editions:
1. Take up less space 2. Have additional special features 3. Are pretty damn cheap (I got all of season 1 at DDD for about $40) I can understand someone not bothering to upgrade at all... but I don't understand how putting them together in a cardboard box plays into the decision process, let alone decides it. |

Considering that I usually ditch my boxes for these sets. I'll also add a point to 1. up there. 1a. There's only three volumes (as opposed to 11 for the first and 5-double alphas for the original release) for these Starburst Editions. So putting three regular keepcases in a box is kinda ridiculous. Yeah, I know, the recent Blade box set came like this, but really...what's the purpose. To look nice on the shelf in some sort of cock-eyed angle so that people can gauk at them? I'd prefer just to have them on the shelf as their separate keepcases. |
Darn, procrastenated too long.
DVDSoon has upped the price by about $5. |

They were kind of redundant anyway, as most of the footage was used in the other extras...or at least it seemed that way to me. |
Agree about the box thing. I think I made the right move selling my original sets when I did. I think I got about $70-80 each for them and will buy the Starbursts for just around half that.
The Starbursts look great on the shelf, and I haven't given a box a second thought. However, I'm pretty sure I saw a picture of season 1 in a box somewhere (possibly DVD Aficionado). |

Of course at the current rate, I wouldn't have to worry about it for awhile anyways. I don't get the box thing either. Then again, I'm a part of the custom cover movement and ditch all digipacks and boxes in favor of keep cases with non-studio art. So you would rather have an 11 disc set in a box on your shelf than a 3 disc(case) set not in a box on your shelf? :hscratch: |
