Nos 282-285: The previously announced Wajda box...

Only two others were announced in addition, although they skip #287 so perhaps that may come soon too:

Baron Ferdinando Cefalù (Marcello Mastroianni) longs to marry his nubile, young cousin Angela (Stefania Sandrelli), but one obstacle stands in his way: his fatuous and fawning wife, Rosalia (Daniela Rocca). His solution? Since divorce is illegal, he will devise a scenario wherein he can catch his spouse in the arms of another and murder her to save his honor—a lesser offense. The Criterion Collection is proud to present director Pietro Germi’s hilarious and cutting satire of Italy’s hypocritical judicial system and male-dominated culture, winner of the 1962 Academy Award® for Best Original Screenplay.

Spine # 286
SRP: $39.95

# SPECIAL EDITION DOUBLE-DISC SET FEATURES
# New, restored high-definition digital transfer
# Pietro Germi: The Man with the Cigar in His Mouth, a 39-minute documentary by critic and filmmaker Mario Sesti featuring interviews with Germi’s longtime friends and collaborators
# Delighting in Contrasts, a new 30-minute interview featuring Stefania Sandrelli, Lando Buzzanca, and Mario Sesti discussing Germi on the set of Divorce Italian Style, along with an interview with screenwriter Ennio De Concini
# Rare screen-test footage of actresses Daniela Rocca and Stefania Sandrelli
# A new essay by film critic Stuart Klawans
# New and improved English subtitle translation

Trickery. Deceit. Magic. In Orson Welles’s free-form documentary F for Fake, the legendary filmmaker (and self-described charlatan) gleefully engages the central preoccupation of his career—the tenuous line between truth and illusion, art and lies. Beginning with portraits of world-renowned art forger Elmyr de Hory and his equally devious biographer, Clifford Irving, Welles goes on a dizzying cinematic journey that simultaneously exposes and revels in fakery and fakers of all stripes—not the least of which is Welles himself. Charming and inventive, F for Fake is an inspired prank and a searching examination of the essential duplicity of cinema.

Both look great!

(One of these days Criterion will announce a whole bunch of titles and I won't want any of them and my financial well-being won't be endangered. Then again .... not likely.)

In the original thread I was very excited about Divorce Italian Style (I still am...) but unfortunately I dislike the new cover. They could have used the origianl Italian cover (at least as a source of inspiration)....

Nevertheless...it is the film that matters.
With this said, GREAT cover for F for Fake.....

Regards,
Pro-B

It's Jaime Hernandez, man. Love and Rockets! I'm loving the cover. That's total genius. I hope they float some work to Beto soon.

How close to SRP are these releases when they hit the stores? I've never seen F for Fake, but it just looks good enough for a blind buy.
