Is the Fight Club- 2 Disc, still OOP?

Is this still on the out of print list, and is it just Best Buy that is getting those 2 discs in recently?

I know i've seen plenty at Best Buy, however i'm not sure if it's still a Best Buy exclusive.

no...not exactly...the original was OOP...they put the same disc out again but with spine number 9 on it. It was on sale at Best buy for 12.99 before Xmas. It is available with them or at borders.

It most definitely was, and as accurately stated above, was reissued with a spine number by Fox.

It's the same disc, same package has before, same everything, it was not OOP, simply changing a number on the side does not make it OOP.

I was looking to purchase a copy over 2 years ago, but could not find one in-stock anywhere online. In fact, I had to get one used from half.com. For a substantial period of time, it was completely OOP.

No, it makes it reissued *after* being OOP.

My best buy has two versions -

One with Brad Pitt and the #9 and a much (either lighter or darker -- i cannot remember) box with Edward Norton on the side. I inspected it to see if anything was changed...only a new sticker bar code on the #9 version. It's easy to miss but I'm sure if you all look, you can see there are different versions at your stores. I had about 10 of each at my store.

But not being in stores for a year or so does make it OOP. It was re-released a good number of months later with the spine number.

Strangely enough, the last time i was at Best Buy they had multiple copies without the number.

They used to go for $50 or so on Ebay for a solid 6 month period a year or so back. It was out of print everywhere at that time. Best Buy then got them in (as did Costco) and Best Buy still has them around the country. At other places it is much tougher, but now also more available at pawn shops, used dvd sellers, ebay, amazon, half.com etc.

I've seen both 2-disk versions (with and without the spine number) at BB quite recently.

Wow, you're kind of like the member here Parcher (he posts or posted in Otter). Neways, he was the type of person that always thought he was right and wouldn't consider other ppl's opinions. He rubbed a lot of ppl the wrong way and I think that you're coming off the same way.

I know that this is the internet and you could probably care less but if this is how you are in the real world, you're gonna have problems dealing with ppl.

Surely I'm not the only one who's noticed that the 2-disc reissue has a gold emblem on the front that says "special collectors' edition", or something to that extent. The original did not have that emblem. So they had the original 2-disc edition, discontinued it for a time, replaced it with the single-disc, then reissued the original with the gold emblem, and apparently a number on the spine.

it only went that high when it was OOP for a while. Now that it's in print again, it doesn't go nearly that high.

I don't like the new packaging. The color is off versus the original two disc, which could actually look like a bundled parcel at a distance.

isn't that gold emblem just a sticker on the shrinkwrap?

It might have been, now that you mention it. That, and I can't seem to find a picture of it anywhere with the emblem on it. I saw it on the shelf lots of times, but didn't bother with it since I already have the original.

The re-release of Tom Hanks' Castaway is the same way...with the gold emblem. So if anybody knows anything about that one, maybe we can find out if it's on the box or on the shrinkwrap.
