I dunno, I heard quite a bit of that Cameron commentary and I thought it was good and informative. That's a good trump card for the EE.

What am I saying, Lion's Gate knows it has a cash cow there. We havent seen the last T2 release...

Yes! I had a 16-inch TV and noticed the difference.

But in terms of the extra features, really, the combination of the two makes a pretty great special edition. Both have unique and compelling features...but if you were only going to get one, get the EE for the better picture, the Cameron commentary (which is great), and the informative pieces on Disc 2.

I don't have DTS capabilities.

The "You Could Be Mine" video isn't on any of the T2 DVDs because of the music rights, and it's not on Gn'R's own video compilation DVD because of the movie rights.

yah i remember getting the ultimate edition on release day, and the videos were nowhere to be found...i now have the extreme edition...been hunting a 2 disc Ultimate with metal slipcover for some time...i always find the cardboard sleeve, no sleeve at all, or the tin sleeve with a double sided disc...the hunt continues.

The video is actually mentioned on Disc 2 of the Ultimate Edition. There's some text describing it, along with a few screen shots.

In all, the UE was released 4 times I believe. Once as a flipper, again as a 2 disc set in that fat tri-layered amaray with cardboard sleeve, again in the swing-gated amaray, which was when the metal cover was introduced, followed by a downgrade to the cardboard slipcover.

I, personally, have both, since I found them on the same night for $5.99 a piece. Guess I've got "T2" about 5 times over between the sets?

A lot of people only use the term "flipper" to specify discs where the movie is split between the two sides. With the T2 DVD-18, it's only extras on the second side, thus not being a true "flipper" in some people's eyes.

Reason I kept my Ultimate Edition is that it has that hidden Special Extended Version that the Extreme Edition doesn't have.

Yeah, I know. I just like arguing that point. What does it matter what the content is on the other side? A 2-sided disk is a 2-sided disk.

In trying to replicate the theatrical experience, there's a significant difference between having to get up during the middle of a flick to flip the disc over so you can watch the second half, and flipping the disc over to watch some extra content.

I might be willing to sell mine if you're interested (the extras are nice but I have the EE so I might just settle for that).

But you don't have to flip it in the middle of the movie or an extra ;)

Is the 2-disc Ultimate Edition back in print? I was at Fleet Farm the other day and they had a hand full of them on the bargin rack priced $9.99.

Thought Terminator 3 was okay, but by far the worst of the trilogy. I suspect that's not what you're getting at though, so you'll have to explain it to me ...

Because the extended edition of T2 had the happy ending with Judgment Day never happening.
