Northen Exposure Seasons 1 & 2....Why Separate Sets?

Yes, I love the show and am glad to have the opportunity to own it...or get a small start AT owning it. When the Seinfeld sets came out this year it was obvously a labor of love, and some thoughtfulness was directed at the consumer as well....as seasons 1 and 2 weren't full seasons, they combined the two and put them on the market at a reasonable price. What does Universal do with NE? Puts a good sized price on each set with a total of 15 episodes....two stunted seasons. The extras are minimal, it's not as if alot of effort had to be put into the release of those 15 episodes. Had they gone the route of Seinfeld not only would we have gotten off with a better value, we would also have looked at their second release as having been season 3- a full season of 22 episodes- rather than what we wound up with, 7 episodes that comprised season 2 for a fairly high price. I know, the damage is done, but having just finished watching season 2 I wanted to vent a bit over it....when greed aimed squarely at fans of the show was the obvious motivator......

I've thought these were overly expensive from day 1, which is why I haven't bought them yet. Even as separate sets, if they were more reasonably priced I would most likely purchase them.
