Storing DVDs in the heat?

I have a DVD rack, and just realized yesterday that they are very near the heater, and were getting quite hot. Should this be of concern? I moved them in the meantime... but I don't really have a whole lot of space in my apartment, and the rack is rather large.

You DO NOT want them near a heater at all, keep them in a cool dry place.
