I'm saying that for the purposes of this thread, wouldn't it make sense to list JUST the movies that have been originally released in a snapper and have now been "re-released" in an amaray/keepsake case? WB is known as the official SNAPPER company to all of us DVD fans and only started putting their new releases in keepcases within the last few months. Some people out there may have held out purchasing newer WB titles since they weren't sure what case they were released with. The last months of 2004 were the official death knell of the snapper and many of the releases here were on the bubble. |
Columbia
My special edition of Taxi Driver is still in a snapper.
Now of course it's in a keep case, has been for some time. It's a Columbia release, so this might not be on the list... |
I hope Caddyshack and Willy Wonka are re-released in keepcases.
|
Will you actually rebuy the DVDs in order to have the discs in keep case?

Warner Bros are due to release a Busby berkely musicals DVD Box Set I believe, does anyone out there have a release date?
|
New Line just put
In Love and War with Sandra Bullock and Chris O'Donnell in a keepcase. There at Besy Buy |
I'd buy Superman 1 and 2 again for the keepcase. And it wouldn't hurt em to make Superman a 2-Disc set, oh I hate DVD-18's!
|
You can take Superman, Batman and The Fugitive off the list. I have yet to see them in keepcases and as far as I know, besides North by Northwest, Warners hasn't rereleased any of their movies in keepcases.
Please add Menace II Society on the list of movies now in Keepcases. Saw it at Best Buy today. Anybody find The Cell, Pleasantville, Wag the Dog, Dark City yet? Saxon |

Anybody find The Cell, Pleasantville, Wag the Dog, Dark City yet? Saxon It wasn't any good of a movie but, at Walmart I saw Lawn Mower Man 2 in a keepcase. chileorgullo said he found Detroit Rock City in a keepcase, but haven't heard back from them |

bboisvert, according to the list, there are now several, such as SUPERMAN 1 & 2, CONTACT and THE FUGITIVE...
REVISION: Of course, upon closer reasing of prior posts, this is still unconfirmed so, for now, never mind... ;) |

I imagine that if that were true, it would not only be confirmed by others, but we'd also be seeing duplicate posts "I got SuprMan in a keepcase!!11111" etc. But I'd love to be proven wrong... I'd grab all 4 of those to replace the snappers. |
Word!

Hey you guys should buy New Line stuff in Canada...they're releasing under Alliance Atlantis, and they're allowed to change the casing if they want...so all 3 Austin Powers, both Rush Hours, Wedding Singer, Dumb and Dumber, American History X, Blades....well just name it and you got it..

I just bought at Best Buy
Love & Basketball in a keepcase. They had 3 of them. |
So American History X and The Wedding Singer have been confirmed by multiple sightings, correct? And you can add The Philadelphia Story: SE to the list as well (btw, I agree with the argument that it doesn't make sense to list titles that have always been in keepcases like Terminator 3, Dial M for Murder, etc., only those which were formerly in snappers/digipaks and have either been repackaged in a keepcase or have been re-released as a new SE/CE in a keepcase. Why would anyone be wondering about a brand new WB/New Line/HBO title - there's only one packaging, and you can't be confused if there is no other version floating around).

The earlier New Line, HBO, MGM and WB were first released in snapper cases. This thread is to report dvds that have now been released in keepcases. |
The original single-disc edition of The Philadelphia Story was, and still is, in a snapper. As for Terminator 3 and Dial M for Murder, re-read my post again - I was saying that they shouldn't be included on this list since they have always been in keepcases.

So has anyone figured out what e-tailers sell keep case versions of these movies, particularly American History X and The Wedding Singer? Ive seen these in stores but I hate to spend $10 on them when they can be had for cheaper most anywhere.
Also Miss Congeniality can be added to the list...the Deluxe Edition is in a keep case. |

Anyone know if New Lines 1997 movies "The Long Kiss Goodnight" and "Spawn" have been released yet in keepcases, they are the last two in my collection of new line to switch to keepcases.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've seen, New Line has been the only company replacing former snap case DVD releases with keep cases. They have more to go--Frequency, Pleasantville, etc--but I've not seen any brand new releases from New Line coming to store shelves in snap cases. Would seem they are quickly abandoning them.
Warner has replaced none of their existing snap case titles, but all their new ones are in keep cases. Don't pay enough attention to HBO releases to know what they're doing or not. Originally posted by QuiGonJosh I'd buy Superman 1 and 2 again for the keepcase. And it wouldn't hurt em to make Superman a 2-Disc set, oh I hate DVD-18's! I already have Superman: The Movie - Special Edition (why don't they actually say "Special Edition" somewhere on the box?), but with news from Warner that they're planning to revisit the entire series after the legal issues are dealt with (concerning Superman 2, I imagine), I eagerly await a new boxed set. Hopefully the original DVD-18 will be converted to a couple DVD-9s. --THX |

Just saw City by the sea in a Keep Case...that's another WB title that made it to Keep Case without having a special edition version..
|
In a case of the complete opposite, Thursday we got in some Warner Bros. titles at work and the new Special Edition of The Iron Giant, which was originally released earlier this year in a keepcase was actually in a snapper. We got about 3 copies of it like this. I couldn't believe it. Is this a first?
K |
Oh yeah, and to stay on topic, we got The Astronaut's Wife, Don Juan DeMarco and A Nightmare On Elm Street recently. I'm tempted to rebuy the first two and possibly the third, especially since they're fairly cheap... Decisions, decisions.

Another one for the list is Brigadoon. The 2000 Warner edition was in a snapper and the new 2005 edition that's included in the Classic Musicals Collection box set comes in a keepcase. The original 1997 MGM edition was released in both a snapper and a keepcase too.

The closest thing is that Cornelius spotted The Iron Giant SE which was previously released only in a keepcase in a snapper but this could be cuz it was first produced in a snapper but then those were put aside since they were pretty much abandoning the snapper (the early pictures of it were as a snapper). I think that an earlier poster spotted some other WB titles in keepcases that were previously in snappers like Superman but I think that he was in Canada as well. |

My Wal-Mart has Nightmare on Elm Street in a keepcase.
|
I found Heaven's Prisoners at The Virgin Megastore in Downtown Disney
|
Just seen Enemy of the State in a keepcase too...if I recall last time I saw it, it was a snap one..
