I've seen both TMNT movies in keepcases, but that's because they are New Line titles. I have seen very few actual Warner movies that have been re-released in keepcases.

You can add New York Minute to the list.

chileorgullo 01-11-05 10:06 PM

detroit rock city...
and the warner deluxe editions:
Matchstick Men
Mystic River, but it might be a fold out I think
and Gothika, with a pretty random slipcover too

At Circuit City, I found
from
New Lines:

Bed of Roses

Shouldn't this tread only be about RE-releases in keepcases? No real point in posting movies that were always in them.

Or am i just smoking crack and bored at work.

Matchstick Men

So are there any known e-tailers that are carrying these? I picked up Rush Hour in a keep case last week at Best Buy, and its not bad for $9.99, but then you realize its a lot cheaper online or even better at Columbia House, and you wonder if theres an easier (re: cheaper) way to do it.

I would definitely look into picking up:
American History X
Batman
Contact: Special Edition
Dumb and Dumber
The Fugitive: Special Edition
Matchstick Men
Superman: the Movie: SE
Superman 2
The Wedding Singer

Though Im kinda curious why they wouldnt do all four Superman films and U.S. Marshals. Anyhow, I guess Ill just keep my eyes open for possible sales on these titles...seems like these usually end up on the 2 for $15 lists from time to time.

Only the Deluxe Edition of Matchstick Men (or whatever version with the CD Soundtrack) comes in a keepcase.

I haven't seen Batman, The Fugitive or the Superman Movies in a keepcases yet. Actually, since those are WB titles, I kind of doubt the validity of the person that posted it (maybe the versions that he's talking about aren't the US Region 1 versions).

There's an easy way around it. If you buy it from an online vendor that has it cheaper, then just buy a copy at a B&M store that has a keepcase, then return the snapper version that you got online to that B&M store with your receipt.

If mods think that's unethical, please feel free to delete that portion of my post.

I thought about that, but there are some people out there who will refuse to pick up a film if it's in a snapper. That's a fact.
So, this thread should let them know it's OK to order that movie from an e-tailer.

Huh???

I'm saying that movies which were ORIGINALLY released in a regular amaray case should probably not be intluced in the list since people would never encounter a "snapper" version to begin with. I'm saying that for the purposes of this thread, wouldn't it make sense to list JUST the movies that have been originally released in a snapper and have now been "re-released" in an amaray/keepsake case?

darmok 01-13-05 11:30 AM

i would love to pick up Superman 1+2 in keep cases, but i've never seen them that way. can anyone else confirm seeing them at retail?

bsktballDude1 01-13-05 11:38 AM

Someone please post if they see Wait Until Dark in a keepcase. Thanks.

Jacobsen 01-13-05 11:46 AM

I'm glad Contact is finally getting an SE, it's about time for such an underrated movie.

You're misreading this thread... Contact is (apparently) getting a new case, not a new edition. The disc itself will be the same one that came out years ago. (Which has 3 commentary tracks and a few featurettes... what more could you want?)

My mistake. Looking at the reviews now it seems to actually be a pretty good dvd for being almost 6 years old-- I guess what concerned me was the issue of the disk rotting, but I suppose that's since been fixed.

Doctor Who 01-13-05 05:15 PM

Add KANGAROO JACK: G'DAY USA to the list.

You also misread my reply.

WB is known as the official SNAPPER company to all of us DVD fans and only started putting their new releases in keepcases within the last few months.
Some people out there may have held out purchasing newer WB titles since they weren't sure what case they were released with.
The last months of 2004 were the official death knell of the snapper and many of the releases here were on the bubble.

chileorgullo 01-14-05 07:50 PM

Columbia

My special edition of Taxi Driver is still in a snapper.
Now of course it's in a keep case, has been for some time.
It's a Columbia release, so this might not be on the list...

SWR 1 01-15-05 10:18 AM

I hope Caddyshack and Willy Wonka are re-released in keepcases.

eau 01-16-05 02:30 AM

Will you actually rebuy the DVDs in order to have the discs in keep case?

Detroit Rock City?

Deco King 01-22-05 06:45 AM

Warner Bros are due to release a Busby berkely musicals DVD Box Set I believe, does anyone out there have a release date?

darkhawk 01-26-05 08:30 AM

New Line just put

In Love and War

with Sandra Bullock and Chris O'Donnell in a keepcase.
There at Besy Buy

QuiGonJosh 01-26-05 08:40 AM

I'd buy Superman 1 and 2 again for the keepcase. And it wouldn't hurt em to make Superman a 2-Disc set, oh I hate DVD-18's!

runnersdialzero 01-28-05 02:25 PM

You can take Superman, Batman and The Fugitive off the list. I have yet to see them in keepcases and as far as I know, besides North by Northwest, Warners hasn't rereleased any of their movies in keepcases.

Please add Menace II Society on the list of movies now in Keepcases. Saw it at Best Buy today.

Anybody find The Cell, Pleasantville, Wag the Dog, Dark City yet?

Saxon
