Bought about 60 DVD, mostly Criterion..so about $1200.
Mine's somewhere in the $700 range. I got most of my DVDs from Columbia House, so that helped in getting more value for the money. The bulk of the expenses went mainly to boxed sets and TV shows (the most expensive item being the Freaks and Geeks Yearbook edition).
too much, at least a thousand.
I don't want to keep track. I'm hoping to slow down this year as well....but we'll see.
I don't like to keep track. I've been buying a lot more TV sets recently and my limited edition box set purchases of Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Freaks & Geeks and Buffy will certainly put me above my average of the past few years. :(
I bought 34 DVD's. 512 bucks.
$860.01, 66 DVDs (20 of those being box sets, with an average of perhaps five DVDs each). Range: $3.08 to $57.75 (a ST: DS9 set).
Not counting quite a few used as gifts or purchased for friends (because I have the patience and experience to scope out deals and they don't). |
This is one question I refuse to answer. It might even shock me.

I spent around $1,500 last year... It will be a slow 2005 for me because I am saving up for my upcoming wedding :-) hehehehe... I will only buy Limited Editions Only this year... hehehe
The number is somewhere between $5 and $5,000.
Around $4,500 to $5,000.
I havent bought many this year, maybe 10. I really want to stop buying DVDs and get HD-DVDs later this year instead. I have rented about 200 from the library and hollywood video, way more than in the past because my new Sony HDTV has really improved my DVD viewing pleasure immensely. the hifisapien

127 titles and boxsets, probably around 4k
half of that in December -eek- |
not sure, maybe somewhere around 500-700+ dollars. I worked a whole lot during the Christmas season (retail), so a bulk of the money was spent during that time.
Biggest year so far
3.6K spent 236 DVDs added Averaged $15.14. Gotta get that avg down ... |
In 2004 I spent $148.99 for 83 DVDs.
I've spent between $3500 and $4000... It's tough collecting Criterions. But - here's some perspective - I have a friend who easily blows that in beer smoking and partying every weekend.
So everyone finds their crutch in a different way for the same amount of money. Also, does anyone get ticked when people challenge them on having a large DVD collection? It pisses me off, especially when my beer swilling friend comes around... |
