Booty call: bootiest ed. UNCUT?

Hello i'm sure most people will hate this thread since this movie gets tons of horrible reviews, but i was hoping someone who owns the bootiest edition over the bare bones version could tell me if it is uncut or at least contains the scenes they show when they run this movie on USA or FX television? There are numerous scenes left out of the bare bones edition i have, such as the cab scene with the transvestites and a bunch of stuff from the restaurant about paint mixing college etc. Anyway any help would be great, if not i guess i have to keep the TV version. I checked the review of the dvd and it pretty much just thrashes the film, so i did try and search for this. Also when i compared them on sites that sell it, i think the run times are the same. THANKS VERY MUCH.

I have it and it seems to be the same as the barebones DVD. There are some deleted scenes and an alternate ending elsewhere on the disc (if memory serves correctly). I know the scenes you mean though, they are shown on Comedy Central when the movie is on there.

these are probably the scenes they filmed for tv to fill out the time slot....they edit other parts out and add things in to fit it all in

good example the octopus in Goonies

i remember when i noticed this problem with the ice cube film "Friday" alot of the cable versions have extra scenes and it drives me nuts that they are not on DVD, also with happy gilmore which until recently also didnt have the famous Stiller scene at the end.

Ummm I am sure they were not 'filmed for tv',but were filmed originally for the film. Then when edited altogether, realized the scenes didn't 'work' too well with the film,or were not important and thus cut. Then in the case with Booty Call being 80 minutes or so,they have too add some scenes to fill it out into a 2 hour time slot.

That is the real reason for the added scenes showing up on tv. But I doubt they were 'made for tv' scenes

Julie is right. Sometimes films are so short (under 88 minutes) that sometimes, the film adds in deleted footage to pad out the film's runtime. In other cases, some scenes might be too explicit for television that scenes are deleted and replaced with "tamer" deleted footage.

Then again, Halloween did have additional scenes shot specifically for television long after production on the film had ceased.

exactly...same with movies like american pie where only a few words may be changed, or they shoot the same scene from a diffrent angle....it does happen, and some filmakers do think ahead for tv royalties sake....were not talking fassbinder here....its booty call.....not exactly an art film

So did "Maniac Cop". A year or so after the film was released they filmed another 10 minutes+ for Japanese TV!

The reason footage 'was' shot for Halloweens tv premire was simply because they did not have any extra footage to add, which would help pad out the running time after the many cuts.

So since part 2 was in production, they were able to gather a few of the cast together and voila, filmed those scenes in two days.

The Goonies extra footage mentioned earlier was not 'shot for tv'. It was cut from the film durring production. If it were filmed specifically for tv. I am sure the dialogue mentioning the octopus at the end would have not been in the film. Yet it was and we are left thinking "What octopus?" since the scene was cut.

Also alot of stations do ocasionally put in deleted scenes for more than just padding. It's another way to try to get people to watch edited down,P&S versions of films too get ratings.

I remember when The Lost World was aired on Fox. The previews were hyping up "With additional footage!" and all I saw was some brief additional dialogue here and there. So it was quite a ripoff, since there were no real additional sequences added or anything.

Also many films 'do' sometimes shoot 'softer' versions of sequences for tv. But that is shooting an alternate take of a scene, not putting in a 'deleted' scene itself.

Most 'additional' footage added to tv versions was 'not shot specifically for tv',but were just deleted scense cut for whatever reason, that were added too pad out the running time.

Pretty simply to understand, and Booty Call I am sure did not have those sequences 'filmed for tv' durring or after production. The scense were originally filmed, then cut for various reasons..and showed up on tv to pad out the running time.

That's the impression i was also under, that they added it to fill out time, but does anyone own the "bootiest ed." and can confirm the scenes mentioned above are there at least in a deleted scenes maner.

THANKS VERY MUCH
