GoodWillHunting discussion thread

Hi there,

does anyone have more information if this dvd really exists with 13 deleted scenes
http://liquidtheater.com/reviews/101 ?

I always thought GWH has only 12 scenes in canadian version...strange...

greetings
Mario

I have the Canadian DVD and it's only got 12 deleted scenes. And frankly, the 12th deleted scene is more of an outtake than anything else. The main reason to get this DVD is for the anamorphic transfer. Well, that and the ability to change audio tracks during the movie which Miramax inexplicably didn't allow you to do.

Yep...the reason I purchased this version by Alliance was for the anamorphic transfer. Could care less about the deleted scenes.

doughboy is right.
the states version has one less deleted scene and is not anamorphic.
the consensus of this linked thread and several more linked to, in that thread, the dvd is not enhanced even though one of the u.s. versions says it is on the back.

Hi guys,

well the reason why i am asking is, i am trying to re-join the scenes with the transcript (original script written by Mad Damon) manuscript i found here: http://www.un-official.com/GWH/GoodWillS.html

I have got the US DVD but which is also R1!

Would this 12 scene fit into the film? So there arnīt 13 scenes than, right?

greetings
Mario

The 12th deleted scene is actually an alternate take of Robin Williams telling the joke in the bar. The main difference is that he's doing a Jack Nicholson impersonation while telling it.

Sweet it is anamorphic? I just got a region free player, and as of now only 1 dvd from another region. I might be adding this one.

canadian version is still region 1 so your count of "another region" dvds will stay the same
