B&M stores, DDD.com,amazon.com, and CH club) |
Everywhere.
Mainly Best Buy & Circuit City for B&M purchases On the internet, mainly DDD.com (during their 20% off sales) and Amazon.com with STL. Columbia House as well although I've slowed down quite a bit there. I'm starting to buy more used at Blockbuster since I have a bunch of trade-in credit there. |
Mostly online now..Deep Discount, Amazon(on the rare times it's cheaper then DDD)..Most titles I want aren't mainstream so I gave up trying to hunt down titles at B&M stores...sometimes Media Play has them but way overpriced.
region 2: Amazon UK ,Sendit region 4: EZYDVD |
I'd have to say Best Buy generally gets most of my business but of late, Amazon has gotten the bulk of it. I also check Sam's, Meijer, Circuit City and Sears on occasion. Sears actually has some really great unannounced sales from time to time. Picked up Lost Boys SE a week after release for $9.99.

I've never bought DVDs anywhere but online. I buy about 95% from DVDSoon.com. The other 5% is split between CD-WOW.com, Play.com, ChoicesDirect.co.uk and DVDPacific.com.

I buy from amazon.com mostly boxsets and ddd for other dvds. I rarely go to the store to buy dvds. The main store I physically go to buy dvds from is Movie gallery during their Buy 2 Get 2 free sale on pvds.

anywhere i can get a good deal..

50% DDD/online
50% Best Buy/Circuit City |
Believe it not, I find almost anything I'm looking for at Newbury Comics or Virgin Mega-Store. For popular releases, it's usually Best Buy. For really tough to find stuff, Amazon works wonders.
|
About 25% from CH, about 25% from DDD, the rest from various places (I used DVD profiler to export to CSV then had Excel subtotal them). I didn't used to enter the purchase place, which is the high number of unknowns.

This past year, I'd say 90% of my DVDs came from Costco, DDD, and Digital Eyes.
|
i shop around...this year my resolution will be to do more online shopping
|
In Store New DVD's = Walmart ($14.88 1st week deals on movies, plus price-match for Box Sets, can't go wrong)
In Store Used DVD's = Blockbuster (can you beat $6.99 a disc?) Online DVD's = 99.99% of my online DVD's come from Amazon (thanks to STL) |
215 Total:
104 from Columbia House 40 from Deep Discount DVD 23 from Amazon 14 from Trades on DVD Talk 7 from North American DVD 7 from DVDSoon 5 from Best Buy 5 from Overstock 3 from Costco 2 from Digital Eyes 2 from Circuit City 1 from Import DVD 1 from Coconuts 1 from Walmart I wish I would have kept track of the ones I have sold because that would have offset the Columbia House number. |
I get most of my mainstream stuff from the local Fred Meyers dept store. They open at 7AM, which is about the time I usually get off work, and their prices are about the same as Best Buys.
My anime of course I usully get at Best Buy, or get used off Amazon.com |
