Without A Trace Season 1 DVD problem
 

Hi,

I just bought Without A Trace Season 1 DVD from Amazon.com and received the DVDs today in the mail. I'm having problem playing episode 8. Episode 8 is on Disc 1 Side B. Has anyone else encounter this problem? I tried playing this episode on 3 of my DVD players without success.

1) On my Sony DVD Player (Model #DVP-NC665P), it would pause around 7 seconds after playing the episode, then after a few second pause, it would skip to around 14 minute mark and start playing there.

2) On my Toshiba DVD Player (Model #SD-2109), it would play through the first 14 minutes, but the screen showed tons of square video pixelation problem.

3) On my Dell PC DVD-ROM drive, it wouldn't even play the episode at all.

Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or is this something wrong with my copy of DVD. I already asked Amazon.com for a replacement. Not sure if there is anything else I could've done from my end to fix this problem.

I had similar problems with my brand new box set. I can't remember if it was episode 8 (though I'll check in a little bit), I do remember that it was Disc One, though. I took it out of the player and cleaned it, and didnt have any problems after that. I was getting pixelation and boxes, etc, too.

I just tried what you suggested. I cleaned my disc. And played it again. Now instead of pausing at 7 second, then skip to around 14 minute mark, it would skip to around 4 minute mark first, then paused, and skip to 14 minute mark.

Could you tell me what you use to clean the disc? I use the the normal lens cleaner and wipe it with tissue paper.
