Yes, a new SE is planned. Will come out in the first half of next year... if I remember correctly, there is a thread about this.

How ironic, for some reason HBO is airing this right now.

One of my favorite movies, would love to upgrade to a two disc SE.

From thedigitalbits:
11/11/04

Also expected in 2005 (TBA) - Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Touched by an Angel: The Complete Second Season, The Longest Yard: SCE, The Daily Show with John Stewart, Coach Carter, Island in the Sky: SCE, The High and the Mighty: SCE, War of the Worlds: SCE, Face/Off: SCE, Joan of Arcadia: The Complete First Season

Possible for 2005 - Titanic: SCE

Once again, keep in mind that none of this is set in stone and until it's official, it's not official. Stay tuned...

And in High Def to boot. It looks stunning, even if the audio is only 2.0. Honestly, it would take a ton of extras and a DTS track to get me to repurchase this movie before HD-DVD after seeing this transfer.

If it had DTS, I could care less about extras. That would be enough for me to buy it again, oh and it's a favorite of mine.

I think it was supposed to come out in July. Expect it to be $10 like the new editions of Deep Impact and Untouchables.

Got my R3 Korean DTS version from KoreanDvds.com. Not sure if they still have it or if it's in stock.

Yeah... I ended up recording it on my DVR along with Last Samurai and T3.

It looked great.

I was always hoping for a re-release to this film.
Great action and storyline.
