Hotel Sierra! Didn't realize how many titles were coming out that day. I'm getting everything there except for your 2 comedy titles there.

I've got to get my pre-order for Sky Captain made.

Not quite then, because Dec. 21st has a couple for me--Shaun of the Dead and the Simpsons 5, but it slows way down after that though.

12/28: RE: Apocalypse
1/4: Nothing
1/11: Nothing
1/18: Kagemusha!
1/25: Warner Gangsters!!, Soap
2/1: Laughing Policeman (maybe)
2/8: Probably nothing, Scorsese's tempting but I already have Raging Bull, and I'm not sure I want to rebuy it so soon.
2/15: Angel Season 5
2/22: Huckabees
3/1: Bambi

and after that, there's not a single thing on the DVD talk list through May I consider a must have (but, I doubt that'll last).

I'm probably done already. Nothing coming out between now and the end of the year that I particularly want, although I'll probably buy some used DVD's or such between now and then.

What do these comments have to do with the question asked by the OP? Are you also the types of individuals that have to verbalize every thought that goes through your heads?

hell no. there are a good 25 I still want to snag prior to Christmas, including a few catalog titles, of course. have not done an import order in a while. doin' one of those, too. I expect to pick up around 8 of those...after the 14th and before Santa arrives. also a few as gifts.

after the 1st? still 200 to 300 to add before my library is complete. or as close to complete with my faves as possible.

Not for me:

12/21 - Napoleon Dynamite, Shaun of the Dead, Simpsons S5
12/28 - Anchorman, Garden State

But I think the weeks after that are pretty light.

I'm trying to cut back on DVDs. The only thing coming the rest of 2004 is Star Trek: Voyager Season 7, and Sex and the City, S6 part 2 (both to complete my collections). I also will probably get Anchorman.

For the new year, my must haves:

1/11
What a Way to Go!

1/18
Curb Your Enthusiasm, Season 3

1/25
Coupling, Season 4
Soap, Season 3

2/1
Secrets & Lies
Wonderfalls

2/8
Deadwood

2/15
Angel, Season 5
Heat: Special Edition

2/22
The Shield, Season 3
I Heart Huckabees

Yup, ROTK EE pretty much (most likely) wrapped it as far as stepping foot into a Best Buy (or any B&M for that matter). I may not be back in store until March 1st for South Park S5, depending on their pricing. The next release that I'm looking forward to is Raging Bull SE on Feb 8 and I'm hoping that Columbia House comes through with a pre-order for that one. Heat SE on Feb 22, but I already have that pre-ordered through CH. There's the Donnie Darko DC on Feb 15, but I'm in no rush to get it. So yeah... I'm done with DVDs for a bit.

I don't think I've ever bought a DVD from Best Buy, but I'm not done:

Simpsons Season 5 - 12/21
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy Gift Set - 12/28
Curb Your Enthusiasm: Season 3 - 1/18
Coupling: Series 4, Men Behaving Badly Series 1 & 2 - 1/25
Raging Bull, Shark Tale - 2/8
Bambi - 3/1
Incredibles, Red Dwarf V & VI - 3/15

So I am still pretty close to my current average of 1 new title a week, though I usually have a week now and then with 3 or 4 to raise the average, and I don't usually get so many gaps of a week or two with nothing on the wish list. (This doesn't include my CH memberships enrollment titles which are more backfill/older releases with several of the new titles listed above as fulfillments.)

It is odd to see Raging Bull and Bambi next to each other on a list of something...

I usually bought stuff online too but when best buy and circuit city began charging shipping fee that changed everything.

Twilight Zone Season 1 on Dec 28 is enticing but $83 and post christmas shoppers don't appeal to me.

No.. as many have said, we still got a few more good titles coming down the pike.

I just don't put the ones I know I'll get on my Chrsitmas list. I let them get the ones I had to skip on, or the catalog titles.

Up until the end of January, here's the dvds I'd like to buy. (Note: I may not buy them the day they come out, but these are the ones I'd like to buy...eventually. Hopefully soon. But, as I begin student teaching, I'll have a LOT less money to spend on dvds, since I'll have to quit my main job.)

12/21
The 4400: Complete First Season
King Arthur (will probably rent this first, to find out if I like. i didn't catch this in the theater)
Shaun of the Dead
Simpsons Season 5 (eventually, since I don't find the need to buy this at the mo')
Napoleon Dynamite

12/28
Anchorman Unrated Gift Set
Garden State
Twilight Zone - The First Season (80s)
Twilight Zone: The Definitive Edition - Season 1 (if i can afford this)

1/04
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle
Troy

1/11
Monk Season 2 (eventually)
The Village
(Note: Curious about the After School Special dvds coming out this date, as I remember the ones in the late 80s, however these pre-date me, but they seem like they might be corny enough to enjoy)

1/18
Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 3

On release week, movies are very cheap. Usually around $14-15 bucks plus you get to have it RIGHT NOW.

As for the next few weeks, I've got Napoleon Dynamite and Garden State to look forward to.
