Nice - thanks for the heads-up. Now if I can only get my hands on the Die Hard slipcase...

Cheers.

I still want to find a box for the non-extended versions, as I have those as well.

danicus007 12-14-04 07:15 PM

I keep trying to place my order and it keeps telling me that I didn't fill something out all the way even though it's filled out completely!!!!

Edit: Never mind, I forgot to check the box about the shipping and billing address being the same...d'oh!! All better now.

kmac2878 12-14-04 08:12 PM

Worked fine for me

Hmmm...

Ordered last night, no errors, no order number, no email, no charge on the card.

Guess I might as well wait another day and see what happens.

We have to use snail mail. Evidently, the internet doesn't work up here.

There's a slip in the box to send a cheque/money order of $4 to get the trilogy box. No online site, but rather a mailing address, plus you get $5 and $10 rebates depending on how much ROTK dvds you bought (combination of ROTK theatrical, ROTK EE and ROTK gift set).

Does any kind soul fancy buying two and posting me one?? I'm in the UK, and will happily pay postage (Standard USPS) aswell as the cost of the case, and the PayPal fees.

Thanks

It only allows one box per shipping/email address.

CoolKidd 12-15-04 07:17 AM

Woohoo! Ordered mine... with invoice number and email confirmation within a minute!

Well, after reading about some other more "successful" orders being placed, I tried again this morning and got the message:

  • We're sorry, but it appears that you have already ordered the free slipcase. Only one order is allowed per customer.

So here's hoping.

Hey all...

Seems legit to me.... However, is there any link to http://www.lotrdvdbox.com/ on any other "official" website? I didn't even see one on newline website.... And also -- this is bascially free -- and the ONLY cost is the $3.00 shipping fee -- right? Bacially, seems like a "thank you" gift for those who bought all three of the box sets. Has anyone seen the charge on their card yet? Anyone been able to use a debit card, even though it says you can't?

Thanks,

M

LOTRDVDBOX.com may be an Internet Exploder-Centric site...

I ran into the "you've already ordered" problem when trying to order the slipcase, and on a hunch tried again using I.E. (instead of Netscape), and the transaction went right through. I'm immedately suspicious that the developers of the site used code that only works properly if it is accessed by I.E.

If you're getting the "you've already ordered" error and actually haven't successfully done so, you might try again using I.E. (it worked for me....!)

darmok 12-15-04 10:35 AM

i'm pretty sure the lotrdvdbox site is owned by the newlineshop guys, so it's legit.

What should give it away that it is "legit" is that the offer comes in the LOTR:Return of the King DVD Extended Edition. Official enough for you. ;)

DthRdrX 12-15-04 12:55 PM

The ad for this case is included with the EE set so it must be legit. My question is, how will they ship them so they don't get dameged/flatened?

Jepthah 12-15-04 12:56 PM

New Line has made DVD history by doing literally everything right from start to finish, including this box offer.

I'm glad to give them my business and their sales and awards by the industry speak for themselves.

And I assume when they ship the boxes they will be flat but will contain instructions for assembly/unfolding.

The Antipodean 12-15-04 03:08 PM

Worked for me. Now I just have to wait for Christmas to get the DVDs... :(

bareva 12-15-04 03:44 PM

ordered mine-and got confirmation email w/ order number right away. Cool!!!

Spiky 12-15-04 04:21 PM

Ordered mine yesterday when I first saw the offer in my ROTK box. I agree that New Line has done a great job with this movie, from start to finish, all 3 parts. Just got the box for the Ultimate Highlander Collection, too, and it only cost me $1. And it's 3 times larger. Not bad, either.

I don't know if I will use the LOTR EE box. For $3, I figured it was worth trying out. I don't like the way the outer boxes tend to scrape up the inner boxes if they are cardboard, like the EEs are. We'll see...
