I never specifically asked for any DVDs, but if I get anything based on idea hints I've been throwing out, I'll possibly get a Dave Matthews Band dvd.

I picked up the Back to the Future box for myself, I'm not big on asking for them. Most of my friends and family know my likes and they always get good stuff for me.

Well, that thread was what you're asking for, this is for what you're getting (although he again starts off with what he's asking for). Then again, I guess he can't know what he's getting yet, can he?

Nothing.

I don't ask for DVDs for Christmas since I can find them at the lowest price by coming here and actually like buying them myself. I ask for stuff I don't like shopping for like clothes.

So, why is this thread still open? It's essentially a carbon copy of the one Tom linked us to.

I am only getting 4 titles from the Wal-Mart "2 for $11" bin:

1.Vintage Christmas Classics, a collection of Christmas episodes from The Beverly Hillbillies, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, and others.

2.The Abbott & Costello Christmas Special

3.The Toy

4.From Justin To Kelly

Maybe I will get some more from Dollar Tree before Christmas, I don't know.

The only DVD I thought I was going to get was LOTR: ROTK EE since I've gotten the other 2 each of the last two christmas' from my MIL. We celebrated xmas today since she's in town and I didn't get it from her. I got a $100 BestBuy gift card instead. Even better.

not only that, but is there much of a need to a "what are you getting for christmas" that couldn't just be put into the "what new dvds you getting this week" thread for that week coming up?

these threads don't seem to add up to much content other than simply posting a list that no one will really care about.

I don't know what I'll get, but here's the DVD-related stuff from my wishlist. I like to put an assortment so I'm surprised. I also had some other books, some CDs, and some power-tools on my list.

Most of these would be blind buys for me (other than Shogun, The Harder They Come, plus the Woody Allen and Hitchcock collections), which is why I haven't actually bought them yet. They're in the order I added them, so the bottom few have been on there since last year at least.

DVDs
Zombi 2 (25th Anniversary Special Edition 2-Disc Set)
Branded to Kill - Koroshi No Rakuin - Criterion Collection
Magnificent Butcher
Lady Snowblood
Tokyo Drifter - Criterion Collection
Shogun
Day of the Dead
A Bullet for Sandoval
The Alfred Hitchcock Signature Collection
The Woody Allen Collection, Set 2
La Dolce Vita (2-Disc Collector's Edition)
The Battle of Algiers - Criterion Collection
Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies
The Harder They Come - Criterion Collection
The Killers - Criterion Collection
Juliet Of The Spirits - Criterion Collection

Don't forget the inevitable "What DVDs did you get for Christmas" that will be posted on Christmas (or maybe the day before).

I suppose the one merit of a thread like this would be if it gave you ideas of what to ask for, but I'm sure it is mostly lists of stuff no one cares about, like you said.
