24 DVD Prequel (Some Spoilers)

Just watched the 24 DVD prequel on the 7th disc on the 3rd season set. It's on the menu as Season 4 Promo

Runs a whopping 6 1/2 minutes long. It picks up 3 months after season 3 ended. Jack is fired from CTU, he actually drops an "F" bomb to the new CTU boss. There is an explosion at the US-Mexican border. Finally, we are sort of introduced to Jack's new love interest played by Kim Raver.

After that a promo for season 4 appears. For those of you who don't plan to buy the season 3 set, you don't really miss much.

how is this a prequel?

wouldnt that mean it takes place BEFORE any of the current seasons of 24?

all it really is, is a bridge between 2 seasons.

Yeah, Season 3 was the weakest so far, though it did finally kick into gear at the end. Your description of the the preview makes it sound like it may even be worse than season 3.

From what I heard, this preview or prequel was shot while they were filming season 4, just to serve as a bridge between season 3 and 4 since normally alot of time passes between seasons. I don't think they were really working with a script, I read the love scene with Jack and Kim Raver was totally improvised to add to the DVD. The explosion at the US-Mexican border and I forgot to mention that someone is shot and killed as well didn't really tell me anything about season 4 so I think it's premature to make any assessment of season 4. I guess we will all have to wait until the 2 hour premiere on January 9th and see how things go.

If your a fan of the show like myself and want some interesting extras, then yeah I think it's worth the money. Hearing Jack say, "I can get my own F'ing job" was definitely a plus.

I got the R2 box so I was bummed when it came out that this was going to be on the R1. I am glad it isn't long, but now I really want to see it anyway. I hope it pops up online somewhere.
