Think I'm going to just start using Excel and create a simple validation list setting so my wife and I can just type in the movie title, purchase date, price paid, and then we can use a drop down menu to select the rest of the stuff I find important. No system seems to have all the fields I want and I'm way past showing off my DVD list to my friends and family.

Ok, maybe I'm not over watching jaws drop when I show how many titles I own, but I guess I'll find a way to put it on a personal website.

Not sure what exactly your looking for but with the last update to DVDProfiler there was a wonderful feature added, the ability to Tag DVDs. You can create a tag for anything you'd think of and do all kinds of sorts against them even.

Well DVDProfiler is probably the best overall, although I really hate how they put the screws to you by making you pay money to be able to list on the site unlimited amounts of dvd's. So I was searching for a better alternative.

dvdaficionado is probably the best program for sorting dvd's in the best fashion, and you can have unlimited dvd's posted, but after 500 listings you have to create a sub folder to keep them all listed in a viewable fashion.

DVDspot is pretty good, has some issues with some TV seasons and the order they get posted in, and there has been one or two dvd's that hasn't had a cover listed for it, which there was listed in dvdprofiler and dvdaficionado. And, as well, you can list an unlimited amount of dvd's.


I really do prefer DVD profiler overall, dvdspots look, dvdaficionado's better way of how they catalogue dvd's for you. I can't choose so I use all three right now. If only DVDProfiler was free for the unlimited dvd's you can post on their site that can be viewed....

I don't mean to be rude, but if you have so many DVDs that you can't list them all for free on their site, why don't you just pry open your wallet and shell out the cash? $30 shouldn't be that much of a strain when you have a collection of over 578 DVDs.

They're not putting the screws to anyone. They're trying to sell a product and earn enough to keep working on it. The main programmer quit his full time job to work on DVD Profiler exclusively. He can't continue to do that if no one will pay for the product.

I use Delicious LIbrary and find that the interface is pretty enticing...I don't love the Amazon.com Link but other than that this system seems to be the best visual organizer on the market.
