Spider-Man 2, which version??!!

Ok, so this tuesday, you can pick 3 different ways to get your Spidey fix. Superbit, 2-Disc SE, or Giftset (which includes the 2-Disc SE). I will probably pick up the Giftset, how about everyone else?

bodomnet 11-28-04 06:06 PM

2 Disc SE

rafaeljose 11-28-04 06:07 PM

Both. Had to try out this Superbit someday.

kar10 11-28-04 06:35 PM

I'm getting both The 2 Disc and the Superbit but for now I'm only getting the Superbit (DTS here we come).

ShagMan 11-28-04 06:43 PM

superbit here, not too excited about extras, just a good movie :)

matome 11-28-04 06:57 PM

Superbit

thelwig14 11-28-04 07:07 PM

Superbit

dgc 11-28-04 07:15 PM

Superbit for now.

I'll pick up a used/mint copy of the SE after ebay, half.com, hollywood video, blockbuster, etc... are flooded with them.

MiamiLoco 11-28-04 07:16 PM

Wow, a lot of Superbit love. Are the reviews saying that it's clearly better in A/V than the 2 disc SE?

phr33k 11-28-04 07:19 PM

superbit. FK the extras.

Zwerchfell 11-28-04 07:24 PM

I don't know yet I wonder how much better the tranfer is. I will probably go for Superbit.

TomOpus 11-28-04 07:37 PM

Giftset for me. I'm a sucker for that crap :) Plus early reviews has given very high marks for the non-SB in video/audio.

Doughboy 11-28-04 08:07 PM

I ordered the Superbit. I really wanted to see that 2-hour documentary, but I know I'll be kicking myself if I don't own the best-looking and sounding version of the film.

Damn you, Sony!!!

flashburn 11-28-04 08:10 PM

Superbit. I can just borrow/rent the second disk to check out the extra features, which I will probably only want to watch once anyway.

tommy28 11-28-04 08:57 PM

Ill wait for someone to compare the 2 disk against the super-bit....im only interested in Picture and sound...

so,LMK---quick;)

Same here Tommy, but I will more than likely stick with the SB unless there is barely any difference.

marty888 11-28-04 09:37 PM

SE

taa455 11-28-04 09:40 PM

SB for now. I might pick up the SE for the extras from columbia house sometime down the road.

Dazed 11-28-04 09:48 PM

Probably the SE since by the time I have a TV / Sound system capable of taking advantage of SB, ill have to buy the film again in HD ;)

seasmoke 11-28-04 10:08 PM

I will be picking up 2-Disc SE

ruk 11-28-04 11:02 PM

superbit

:hscratch: If you are only interested in picture and sound, then what comparison are you looking for? Superbit is your answer.

Pretty much where i stand as well. Don't forsee the funds to upgrade to components capable of seeing the Superbit difference any time soon, so it'll be the 2 Disc Special Edition for me.

wolverine1028 11-29-04 12:10 AM

2 disc SE

Dabaomb 11-29-04 12:49 AM

2-Disc SE for me since I'm a sucker for extras that I'll probably only watch once if that.

BizRodian 11-29-04 12:57 AM

Well, except for the fact that not every Superbit has looked or sounded as good as one would think under that banner. In fact, there are many 2 disc SE titles that beat many Superbit titles.

Of course, it would be unlikely this time, seeing as they're being put out at the same time...

eau 11-29-04 02:54 AM

I'll probably wait for a review on SE vs SB first...

But then the SE at BB has a bonus disc with the "VH1 Goes Inside Spider-Man" feature. Is this feature any good?

Fok 11-29-04 03:07 AM

2.5 is out early next year?

Jackskeleton 11-29-04 03:12 AM

or atleast in 2007 when Spidey 3 comes out.

NotoriousDRE 11-29-04 06:23 AM

Superbit for me

QuiGonJosh 11-29-04 06:43 AM

The optimal decision would be to get either the Gift Set or 2-Disc AND the Superbit. The extras on the Special Edition are truly special and deserved to be watched.

Father Karras 11-29-04 07:23 AM

I pre-ordered the Superbit. As others have mentioned, there will be a ton of used copies of the 2-Disc available for re-sale for close to nothing in a short period of time. I'll probably pick one of these copies up for the supplemental material. If one is willing to wait, I'm sure the price of the Spider-man 2 Gift Set will likely come done in price as well. The original Spider-man Gift Set came down in price in short order and can now be purchased for only $19.99 at Best Buy. Then there is the rumored Spider-man 2 2.5 version lurking on the horizon. I'm sure I'll be happy with my Superbit with it's optimal transfer and DTS until I decide on my options related to the other releases.

TOLEN 11-29-04 08:21 AM

What are the extras on the SE? And are their any extras at all on the SB?

QuiGonJosh 11-29-04 08:30 AM

The extras on the SE are as follows:

Commentary by director Sam Raimi, actor Tobey Maguire, producer Ani Ahrati, and coproducer Grant Curtis

Technical commentary

"Spidey Sense 2" pop-up trivia track

Blooper reel

Four Web-isodes: original online featurettes

Train music video: "Ordinary"

Disc 2:

"Making the Amazing": A 2 hour 12-part documentary

"Hero in Crisis": a deeper look into Peter Parker and his personal battles

"Ock-umentary: Eight Arms to Hold You"

"Interwoven: The Women of Spider-Man"

"Enter the Web": groundbreaking multi-angle look behind the scenes

Art gallery

Behind-the-scenes look at the Activision game

QuiGonJosh 11-29-04 08:31 AM

Superbits do not contain extras, except for the Superbit of the original Spider-Man, it had a 1.0 Commentary with Tobey Maguire and J.K. Simmons.

brooke789 11-29-04 08:42 AM

according to Movie Gallery's PVD release schedule you will be able to get the 2 disc SE for 9.99 December 13.....I believe the buy 2 get 2 free will still be going on them so we're planning to pick up athe se then.

RockStrongo 11-29-04 09:12 AM

Superbit for me too.

Lara Means 11-29-04 10:20 AM

i dont see myself watching all the extras more than once. Superbit for me!

Skyler 11-29-04 11:15 AM

Superbit.

Skull 11-29-04 12:29 PM

The sound on the 2-Disc was pretty good, so I'll probably pass on the Superbit.
