Probably Family Guy and Simpsons.

You got it, Brent! This is the main reason why people love it so much, because it's just a lot of fun to watch and good entertainment.

*** ACTIVATE THE VOCAL GUIDING TRACK!! ***

Far beyond the world I've known,
Far beyond my time.

What am I, Who am I, What will I be?
Where am I going and What will I see?
Searching my mind for some truth to reveal,
What thoughts are fantasy and what memories real?

Long before this life of mine,
Long before this time.
What was there?
Who cared, to make it begin?
Is it forever or will it all end?

Searching my past for the things that I've seen.
Is it my life or just something I've dreamed?

Far beyond this world I've known,
Far beyond my time.

What kind of world am I going to find?
Will it be real or just all in my mind?
What am I, Who am I, What will I be?
Where am I going and what will I see?

After this, it'd be funny if Seinfeld got "Highly Recommended".

O.K. It's not so much that I hate Golden Girls. I just find it very forgettable, and I think it's funny that someone would give it the highest DVD rating possible. I lump it in with other 80's NBC shows like 227, Amen, and Dear John- Must Snooze TV. My favorite shows, INPO, are:

1.) Freaks and Geeks
2.) King of the Hill
3.) All In The Family
4.) Seinfeld
5.) The Simpsons

I once saw a SNL skit which had teenagers dressing up as the Golden Girls and acting out episodes or something. The skit acted like it was some dangerous thing kids do, like drugs or something. I always found that skit funny.

Turd,

I think some of your favourite shows are great (All in the Family) and some should have stopped a couple of seasons ago (The Simpsons.) The point is, and I think you are realizing it, is that no one can determine what is good and what is not. It's all personal opinion.

Brent, let me know if you find a site where I can download that skit! I havent seen it in a while!

Admittedly, the middle years of the Simpsons are the best. I know that what's good and what's bad is a matter of personal opinion, but I think you can make judgments about one show being better than another based upon the weight of collective opinions. Do you honestly believe that no one can say "All In the Family" was better than "She's the Sheriff"? I'd venture to say that the weight of collective opinion is that "Golden Girls" wasn't an all time great show.

Independence Day is #19 on the all-time box office chart. Most people have never even heard of The Rules of the Game.

Collective opinion doesn't mean shit.

It's one reviewer's opinion. Sometimes Ebert gives a 4-star rating to movies I hate. I don't lose sleep over it.

Here's a thought: what if the director of the former shot a remake of the latter?

Imagine how kickass that rabbit hunt would be....

I meant the collective opinion of critics. Popular opinion is a far uglier animal.

I won't lose any sleep over this discussion. I think its fun.

Brilliant! Doctor Theopolis approves.

(I'm determined to turn this into a Buck Rogers thread. Probably because I watched nearly the entire set this weekend. Plus, I'm drunk.)

Produce some Erin Gray nudes, and it's a deal.

If you threw a party, Turd, and invited everyone you knew -- you would see the biggest gift would be from me, and the card attached would say "thank you for being a friend". I wanna thank you...thank you for being a...I wanna thank you...

I don't know, but my entire family loves the show, all ages. 'Round these parts, Golden Girls is a classic TV show. Right up there with Sanford & Son and Mama's Family.

I really don't see how someone could fail to see the humor in Golden Girls. I've talked to a few people that said it sucked, only to then learn that they dislike it just because of the ages of the main characters.

Who in their right mind can't see how Stan and his monkey is funny?
