Will we ever see these Brando films on DVD?

I would love to own an official dvd of ONE-EYED JACKS. Those PD versions are horrible. THE APPALOOSA was released on VHS years ago. Any chance of seeing these westerns on DVD some day??? This is my first post on this forum. I have enjoyed reading it for over a year now. This is the most informative forum I have seen. Keep up the good work. Barry.

The Appaloosa was discussed awhile ago however I have not seen a definitive info indicating a future release.

For those in R2, the UK has just got a Brando Box with The Wild One, On The Waterfront, The Ugly American and The Appaloosa.

While I'd like to see a better release of One-Eyed Jacks, the one Brando movie I really want to get a DVD release is
MISSOURI BREAKS, with Brando & Jack Nicholson.

I'm still waiting for "Reflections In A Golden Eye" directed by John Huston and co-starring Brian Keith and Elizabeth Taylor. Sick enough to make David Lynch blush!

I still cannot believe that Fox hasn't released Viva Zapata! as part of their Studio Classics line.

It is widely known that Brando did not like DVD and the direction it is going in. He protested the release of the Godfather on DVD and was paid a huge sum for it coming to DVD. He was always going against the grain so to speak. I doubt we will ever see these movies on DVD.

Why would they have to pay him to put one of his movies on dvd?
And BURN! is another good one.

I was not aware of that, but I mean, Brando didn't own the rights (or I wouldn't think he did) to these movies, so I fail to see how he could make much of a difference, especially now. I hope to see a nice catalog of his titles, especially Missouri Breaks.

It would be great to see the desaturated "golden" version of Reflections in a Golden Eye that played at a few venues when first released. Apparently, the movie appeared as a golden sepia tone with red as the only other color showing up. This was another color experiment from John Huston, following Moulin Rouge and Moby Dick. For whatever reason the studio (WB I believe) pulled the sepia prints and released the movie in conventional color prints (the sepia tinting had been done at the print stage, not the negative stage).

What are the chances that a DVD will be released with both versions? The conventional color is what just about everyone has seen in theaters and on TV and video for years (and the only one I have seen), so it should be released as well. Oh well, maybe in time for HD.

Also another vote for Burn!, which I thought was terrific, even though the only version I have seen was chopped up to fit in a two hour time slot and viewed on a snowy UHF station years ago.

I'd especially like to see this since I just missed the 35mm reissue at the American Film Institue here in DC/MD
