Karate Kid 4-Pack --> Feb. 1st, 2005!

For the Hilary Swank (and Ralph Maccio) completists in all of us, Columbia will release a special 4-pack on Feb. 1st...details will follow soon~

Randy Miller III 11-08-04 08:13 PM

If you're quiet enough, you can hear the eBay stampede dumping their OOP copies. ;)

Joe Molotov 11-08-04 08:24 PM

Gotta sell it now while it's still worth enough to pay for the boxset.

SFranke 11-08-04 08:25 PM

Thanks, Mao. Hopefully these will be SEs.

DrGerbil 11-08-04 08:26 PM

Great, now I can finally get all of them in one fell swoop for a decent price!

Bacon 11-08-04 09:03 PM

Lemme guess, the original will be the same FS DVD?IMo the sequels just plain suck (well 3 is decent but not good enough to buy) but dammit TKK 1 deserves an SE but of course Columbia won't do that, they'll put out 50 DVds of lesser movies :( but not one good DVd of great movies

sorry for the rant

taa455 11-08-04 09:05 PM

If they don't include the OAR version of the first movie, I won't be buying this.

Altimus Prime 11-08-04 09:11 PM

That they're coming on DVD...

Karate Kid I - Excellent!
Karate Kid II - Great!
Karate Kid III - OK.

Karate Kid IV - HUh? What?

KK-I will sell like hotcakes. II and III less so. IV would just sit and gather dust. Probably why they're putting them all together - they think it's the only way to move 'em all.

SWR 1 11-08-04 09:28 PM

How did they fumble not getting the KK (1) out during its 20th Anniversary year? I sure as hell hope KK (1) gets the proper treatment, it made Columbia a lot of money.

wedge 11-08-04 09:32 PM

I don't care about the third and fourth movies, but if the price and treatment are right I might bite on this.

thelwig14 11-08-04 11:33 PM

Hopefully they will be released individually. KK 4 makes Rocky V and Alien Resurrection look like the best pictures ever made.

ruk 11-08-04 11:43 PM

wow, good news - wax on, wax off....

JP5683 11-09-04 12:26 AM

Must stay focus.

demonio 11-09-04 12:39 AM

great news, hopefully they'll at least have the OAR for the first one!

asianxcore 11-09-04 01:08 AM

can't wait for this. also hope that KK 1 will be in OAR

BuddyRevell 11-09-04 02:21 AM

Karate Kid 1 deserves a Special Edition what is the problem Mr. Laurence??!!!

Thanks for the great news!

taa455 11-09-04 02:35 AM

I don't think there is any definite "news" of a special edition, yet. This might just be a repackaging.

Rubix 11-09-04 02:49 AM

yeah! put him in a body bag johnny!

raven56706 11-09-04 04:28 AM

FINISH HIM.....................WINNNER..........da da da daaaaaa da da da da....... da da daaaaaaaaaa da da daaaaaaaaaaaaa da daaaaaa..... you alright larusso

LOL.... got to love it

jrobinson 11-09-04 06:29 AM

Damn, I didn't know these were worth money. Oh well, I guess since I'm too lazy to ebay my copies, it doesn't matter. I'll just hold on to the OOP versions.

marty888 11-09-04 06:35 AM

I gave up waiting for a sensible U.S. release and finally picked up the R2/PAL box set of I-II-III. They're bare bones, but anamorphic OAR.

It's not a repackaging.

candyrocket786 11-09-04 07:13 AM

Thomas Ian Griffith and Martin Kove made part 3 enjoyable for me. Guys were funny as hell! :D

Geofferson 11-09-04 08:06 AM

Fantastic news!

matome 11-09-04 08:07 AM

So the first Karate Kid movie is anamorphic widescreen and not fullscreen as with the previous release?

Fok 11-09-04 11:22 AM

Part 1 and 2 were pretty good, as for 3 and 4.....man what happened?

Gyno Rhino 11-09-04 11:28 AM

Hmm.. If they do this right, no can defense.

GuessWho 11-09-04 11:37 AM

Packaging?

Put it in a bodybag! Yeaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

majorjoe23 11-09-04 11:37 AM

I'll throw my 2 cents in. I actually liked 3 better than 2. 4 doesn't even belong in this discussion or in this set, imo.

The main problem I have with both 2 and 3 is Daniel is such damn_wussy. It seems like he gets his butt kicked for the whole movie, but then gets one lucky shot in at the end. I guess that sorta happens in 1 too, but 1 had other redeeming qualities like a good script. Also Daniel does win his way through the tournament in 1. In 3 he doesn't even fight until the last match. Lame.

SFranke 11-09-04 11:51 AM

Whoever came up with The Karate Kid: Stupid Bike Edition, I really hope Columbia steals your idea.

BuddyRevell 11-09-04 12:56 PM

Heheh....that was me. But it was more like...

The Karate Kid "Damn bike, stupid bike, I hate this stupid bike" Edition.

Duality 11-09-04 01:37 PM

Please dear GOD...

let this set offer a remastered widescreen version of the first movie.

MJKTool 11-09-04 01:49 PM

Hopefully they offer these seperately. Imo part 2 was the best of the trilogy.

wordtoyamotha 11-09-04 02:21 PM

Everyone sit back and imagine this release with me after you "crose eye"

Regurgitator 11-09-04 03:26 PM

I don't know why everyone is so excited about the OP's statement? He still hasn't given us any link or solid proof of its re-released. Overall, it's all rumor.

Rogue588 11-09-04 03:31 PM

yeah, Mao's FULL of misinformation/rumours...

DAMN YOU Mao!
