What's The Best DVD Bargain You've Ever Gotten?

Anyway, right off the top of my head, I'd have to say that my best deal overall is all the free bonus DVDs I've managed to get by returning whatever it is I was supposed to buy in order to get them (the biggest expense I've avoided being a season of "Everybody Loves Raymond"), and if you want to call that theft too I guess I don't have much of an argument. However, the best legitimate deal I suppose I ever got is finding the widescreen/fullscreen copy of Hero for $5.50 at WAL-MART recently. I might have been able to get it off Amazon for a similar price, but the hassle of going through all those listings trying to make sure the sellers had the original release instead of the FS-only version makes the WAL-MART find a much better deal.
Aside from that, a couple other good deals involved coupons, like paying $10 for a 2-episode TV sampler DVD and getting a $10 coupon off the full set, although I never actually used the coupon. I did use a couple of $10 coupons I got out of BEST BUY's 4-disc TV sampler collections on a couple of season sets, and I also had a $10 coupon refunding my RewardZone subscription fee, so that ended up being a pretty good deal for what I got. I'm curious as to whether they'll drop the price of those sets now that the coupons aren't any good -- they expired on Dec. 31st, so it would be nice if they dropped the price from $19.99 to $9.99 to compensate. I know that would make me try a couple more of those sets.

I wasn't around long enough on the internet to take part in the big DVD website blowouts, and my "deals" are pretty weak compared to others, but this is what I've gotten:
1) Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition (1-disc) sealed from a Loblaws supermarket for $5.99
2) The Office: The Complete Collection (with both scriptbooks and a lunchbag) for $29.99
3) Battlestar Galactica: Season 2.0 from a Blockbuster Video for $7.00 (pricing error)
4) Spider-Man 2 Gift Set from Future Shop for $14.99 (usually $59.99 normally; pricing error)
5) LOTR: FOTR and TTT gift sets for $22.99 each at an HMV

I'd say the best deal I've gotten was Project Greenlight - Season 1 on eBay for like $2. With shipping, it came to about $5 or $7 (can't remember which). Either way, a pretty good deal. I don't think the seller was too happy I won it for that price.

DVD Talk Limited Edition
I walked into a Borders back before Christmas, and lo and behold, they had a copy of Twin Peaks Season One behind the glass. After picking my jaw up off the floor, I noticed that it listed for $40, but they had a coupon special going on for 40% off all DVD boxsets, so I walked out of there with it for $24.
Mind you, this was just when these things started to buzz again, on here and elsewhere, at the announcement of the release of Season Two. That very day, a sealed copy sold on eBay for $120 !

Last week I went into Target to buy 2 cases of bottled of water (56 bottles total) and the Reservoir Dogs 15th anniversary gas tin edition. The guy at the register messed up while ringing it up and told me it was 6 dollars. I said there was no way that could be right and he agreed so he rang it up again. He said it was coming up as $6. I said, "Hey, I'll take it." So he took my credit card and tried to swipe it, but it wasn't working. He said, "Now it's coming up as $2.13" So I replied..."Okay, even better." So he swiped my card and it worked.
So... after all that I got...
2 cases of bottled water (56 bottles total)
and
Reservoir Dogs 15th Anniversary gas tin
for a total of
$2.13

I'm hoping to one day pop in an EB games and find a Fantasia box. They are so hard to find now-a-days for a decent price.
I did however pick up the Universal Classic Monster Collection (8 movies) for $25. It was a big misprice as the box ran for $200.

Firefly Series and Tarzan Collection Vol. 1, both at Sam's for $17.88
SCTV-Season 2 for $23.88, from Blockbuster when they had their pricing error on the series a couple of years ago.
Also got the Disney Treasure Tomorrowland for $16 from the same Blockbuster in another pricing error gaffe.
Dick Van Dyke Show Season 1-$20 from a software/video store no longer in business here in St. Louis.
I couldv'e purchased the Criterion "The Ruling Class" for $6 from the same store, but passed on it.

As a bit of a serial bargain-hunter, there have been quite a few. Off the top, I'd say...
Unbearable Lighness of Being (Criterion) $3
Hard Boiled (Criterion) $5
Rushmore (Criterion) $3
Master & Commander (SE) $3
JFK (Director's Cut) $3
Flesh For Frankenstein (Criterion) $3
Most GameStop 3/$10 sales plus discount card, others trade-ins at Blockbuster.
I'll give it some more thought.

Last week target misprinted a picture of the extended edition of gladiator for $10. It was supposed to be the single disc edition. So I went to Wal-Mart and price matched and got the 3-disc edition for $10!!!! I loved it…

I'd say for best prices, the Friday the 13th box set. 20 bucks brand new. Sells for about 60 in best buy.
Also, I bought an OOP 2 disc special edition army of darkness for 16 bucks. Since it's very rare and they only made 30,000 copies world wide, yeah, I am lucky.

Recently found a sealed Columbo Season 1 at a thrift store marked at $9.99, bought it and turned out to be in a store section that was 50% off that day so I got it for $5.
I got a set of the new Battlestar Galactica for free just for getting a Mastercard, didn't even have to put any money on it.

I know a guy who ordered $1000 of DVDs from that %50 off fox store promotion (so the total was $500, which was the max possible under the promotion). Some of them were pre-orders so it took over 3 months for Fox to ship his order. When they finally shipped it out, somehow they forgot to charge his card. It's been a couple of years now and as far as I know, they never did.
