OK, after getting no useful response from DD's web support, after a little reasearch it turns out that they do list UPC 027616078537, which every other vendor has as the new TGTBATU release, but DD lists it as Moby Dick [VHS]," but coincidentally also being released on 6/5/2007. Draw your own conclusions.

Are you talking about the US theatrical version? Yes, it is anamorphic too, but the picture quality isn't nearly as nice as the SE. I wish they would have made the SE version seamless branching with Extended and Theatrical versions.
Yes, that is what I was referring to. I figured as much regarding the PQ, but it is cheap enough that I think I will still pick it up in order to have both cuts of the film.

I noticed this when I tried to use dvdpricesearch to direct me to Deep Discount's TGTBATU listing, and I thought it was an error on their end. I guess the error is on Deep Discount's end. Perhaps posting the question in either the DD 20% Off bargain thread or the Store Forum would generate better results.

I tried ordering these from Deep Discount and using the 20 percent off code on the discs that are priced at $18.45. Unfortunately ernestrp, they don't appear to be discounting that price so nobody's going to get them for 14 and change.

Has anyone else had any luck getting the discount?

The discount does not work on pre-orders. Try using it tomorrow.

I just wanted to follow-up on the whole TGTBATU/Moby Dick VHS listing at DeepDiscount. Today I was 'feeling lucky' as Google likes to say, so I ordered all the individual Sergio Leone SEs, including the aforementioned TGTBATU, along with the older, theatrical cut TGTBATU. The entire order had the 20% discount applied, and when I received my e-mail confirmation, the Moby Dick VHS listing was reported correctly as TGTBATU. So, happy shopping everyone, and thanks for letting me know that the boxset was a colossal packaging nightmare akin to the Alien Quadrilogy.

I just purchased the 2 SE's with the DD discount, as well as a blind buy for Duck You Sucker and My Name is Nobody. Can't wait to check them out.

I just picked up the big box set at HMV here in Canada. Here we've got both HMV and Best Buy selling it for $49.99CND. Which seems to me a much better price than any online store. I haven't opened it yet, but I will when I get home. I may even add some photos if I can find that darn camera of mine.

I would like to know if the single releases come in the same box design as the first TGTBTU CE release. Anybody see it in a store? I think I have to check it out before ordering it from DDD.

Nope, they come in a pretty sturdy sleeve and there's a 2-disc amaray case inside that slides out horizontally.

Speaking of these releases: I've just about given up on Best Buy stocking new releases of older films because they didn't even have these in store today. Circuit City (which I rarely go to) had A Fistful of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More but not Duck, You Sucker. So eventually I finally find Duck... at Sam Goody which does seem to stock every new release, though I ended up paying a...uh few dollars more.

Definitely worth it as I'm so happy to finally watch Duck, You Sucker!

Grrrrrr, I guess I just buy the box then. That sucks, I wish they would match my old release. Well, for 5 bucks more I get the box at DDD.

Not speaking for Cameron but the "bummer" for me is the fold out digipak design... That's why I'm passing on the box and going for the singles.

Tried Best Buy,Target,Barnes&Noble, and Suncoast today for anything Leone. Only Suncoast had what I was looking for, but all I got was FAFDM (Pre-ordered DUCK, recieved it today, and looks like I'll have to go back to DDD to place an order for Fistful)

Saw dozens of the discontinued Flags/Jima sets all over the place though.

I pikced up the singles of FFoD, FaFDM and DYS at DVD Planet today for $14 each. Great looking releases. I've already watched Duck and had it blow my mind since it was a blind buy. I almost want to rebuy GBU for the new packaging, but I don't think it's worth the extra $.

I ended up purchasing the individual movies for FFoD, FaFDM and DYS at Best Buy Canada for $14.99 since I already have TGTBTU CE version.

I was in the same position having both other versions of GBU but decided to buy the full box set for $49.99 at BB. I was thinking about just buying the three separately like you did because I don't like the stacking type case in the box set. I may change my mind and get the three singles.

So I already have the Region 2 SEs of all of these (like some others, I just couldn't wait for an R1 release) and so was wondering if there was any reason to rebuy these R1s other than the fact they are now NTSC and all that. I seem to remember reading somewhere that one of the R2 editions was missing some footage that has been restored on the new R1. Is that true? I really didn't want to search this whole thread for the info.

Thanks in advance for any information....

I think there's some "horse violence" missing in the R2 of Duck You Sucker. But that's about it.

It's about six seconds of footage cut, and although I'm a huge fan of the film, I've yet to notice the missing "horse violence"on the R2 set. Still, cut is cut.
