The Brown Bunny?

Does anyone know when this DVD might be coming out?

Thanks...

I don't know if you've seen it or not, and I don't want to 'threadcrap', but if you're thinking of buying this blind, do yourself a favour and don't.

It's self indulgant tripe of the highest order.

I haven't seen it. I'm just a fan of Vincent Gallo and really enjoyed Buffalo '66. I can't find a release date anywhere for the DVD so I guess it's going to be a while.

A Region 2 DVD comes out in Japan on December 3rd, but it will most likely feature "fogging" during the much talked-about scene at the end. No news of a North American release yet, but the film is currently making its way through arthouses in the US, so maybe a Region 1 DVD will be out next spring or so?

Well, Roger Ebert, who thought the Cannes cut was perhaps the worst film he had ever seen, gave the release cut three stars. It's worth a rental but this film is definitely not "blind buy" material.

Of course, I wonder how many will buy it just for the blow job...

I've not seen the film but I think Ebert's review was comparing the Cannes cut to the new cut too much. Compared to the old cut it might be a three star film but as far as movies go it sounds really bad, imo.

I'm definitely in the minority on this one - easily one of the two or three best films I've seen all year.

I strongly disagree.

i thought it was a pretty slow film with a highly emotional, very intense, extremely satisfying payoff. also one of the best films ive seen this year. but with all that said, i dont think i will buy the DVD, its not something with much rewatchability.

Here are a couple of reviews for The Brown Bunny. I liked it, but it's not a film for the impatient.
