Its nice to know we are still excited by dvd when we get down to initial releases of such classics as Ice Pirates and Yor.

The original King Kong is #1 on my list at this point, but count me in on Ice Pirates. I really wonder how I'll view it since the last time I saw it I couldn't even drive a car (long time ago).

Finally! I have been waiting for this on DVD for a long time. Great news!

Anjelica Huston was HOT in that flick.

I love this movie. Thanks for the news

Great flick, can't wait. :)

Great! I've been wanting to see Ice Pirates again for a long time. In fact, most of the semi-decent B-Films of the 80's haven't come out. Yor & Megaforce are two. Much better than Deathstalker & Barbarian Queen which have been out forever. Is there a list of B-Films not yet released somewhere? Or even a good list of what has been?

Thank God I can finally throw away that horrible VHS copy!!!

Sadly enough, this is the only movie except for Final Option (Who Dares Wins) that I've waited for to come to DVD. Excellent news!!!!!!!!!!!! ... yeeessssssssss ...

Anyone else have trouble finding Space Herpes? Went to Best Buy and Circuit City with no luck.

I'm looking forward to checking this out. What's next? Doc Savage?

BuddyRevell 02-15-05 05:31 PM

Just FYI. I know the movie is called Ice Pirates, but chose to say Space Herpes for the fans. My fault. Anyhoo, I just couldn't find it.

Does anyone know if this is a true widescreen or a chopped up pan n scan to make it look like widescreen.. ?

ShagMan 02-15-05 05:57 PM

erm, hopefully MGM has learned their lesson by now. I was under the impression that most of those cases were just open mattes vs. matted for widescreen anyway... that's what thedigitalbits reported if I remember correctly.

There was never anything wrong with MGM's DVDs themselves. It's just some misleading text on the packaging that got uneducated consumers' panties in a bunch.

blindrocket 02-15-05 06:33 PM

So did anyone actually get it? I'm going to look tomorrow when I'm in town.

Joe Molotov 02-15-05 06:48 PM

I looked for it, but I didn't find it. I'm going to look for it again this weekend.

Elkabong57 02-15-05 06:56 PM

Picked it up at Best Buy in Ann Arbor Michigan, $9.99 they had about 10 of them.

TomOpus 02-15-05 08:08 PM

Yeah, couldn't find it either... but only checked a couple places. I'm sure it'll show up by the weekend.
