October Sky and Backbeat SE's on the way

From DVDanswers.com

Universal has announced special editions of October Sky which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Laura Dern and Chris Cooper and Backbeat which stars Sheryl Lee, Stephen Dorff and Ian Hart. Both will be available to own from the 25th January next year, and should retail at around $14.98. I'm afraid we have no details on October Sky yet, but we can confirm that Backbeat will include an all-new digitally remastered transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. We'll bring you further details on both of these new releases shortly, but for now, here's the first look at artwork for Backbeat. We'll bring you artwork for October Sky shortly:

With a retail price of $14.98, I'll probably double-dip on October Sky.

Good thing I've been holding out on buying October Sky. Great movie that's currently hampered by a barebones release.

This has to be one of the fastest double-dips on a catalog title. I picked up Backbeat last year cuz I didn't think there would be another release anytime soon. If all the extras are ported over, maybe I should get rid of mine now and pick up the new on in January. I don't know though. It's weird that it's getting a re-release. It's not exactly a huge mainstream hit or anything.

With a retail price of $14.95 though, I might just be a sucker.

It may not be a mainstream hit, but it's still a great movie. Also I got mine the day it was released, and I said to myself "there won't be any re-release for a while, if they ever did re-release it.
Don't worry Cornelius1047 you won't be the only sucker out there join the club. This one I would love to have in 5.1.

My Mom just got the VHS copy, why I dont know. Maybe I'll get her the Special Ed. for her birthday. I only saw this once but from what I can recall it was a good movie.

Nice...a new DTS track. I wonder if the video is the same as the old release?

audio commentary with Homer Hickam,
I hope this would be a great commentary!

I do hoped that they would put the theatrical poster into the cover instead of these floating heads, but the movie is great anyway so I don't care.

Finally I got to listen to Hickam commentary and it was very informative and entertaining. A great movie with a great commentary. What else could you expect?
