On Amazon.com, it lists the extras as:

Now, in Canada, S1 was released in 2 box sets but I can't seem to find the specs for those sets.
Can anyone tell me which one is better?

DVD Talk Godfather
To my recollection, the two box sets were released prior to the studio getting consent from the Who to use their music on anything other than a tv broadcast. Therefore, different intro music. That is the only difference I know of. And of course if I'm wrong about that, someone speak up.
Were the two sets released 16:9? That is the only drawback to the region 1 set.
