I've already spent all of October watching anything from Uni classics to modern horror, but as the of Halloween is concerned, maybe some new stuff that should be here anyday now:
The Sentinel
Species SE
Mark of the Devil BU
Night Train Murders BU
Children of the Corn Divimax
Dracula (79)
But I usually set October for what I call my "month of horror". I'm a huge horror guru, so atleast one horror movie is watch everyday till Nov 1st. Its a thing I started when the DVD boom hit almost four years ago, and usually TV lacks anything horror till the weekend of Halloween (except for TCM and AMCs Monsterfest-but hey, who doesn't own what they show?).
Its a fun thing I do; I enjoy it. We moved to a new area two years ago and its still developing, so there's very little trick-or-treaters here. Plus, our public school system has been trying to replace Halloween (and all that is fun with the holiday), by calling it Fall Harvest!!! Damn, political correctness.

Just out of curiosity, how do some of you have so much time to watch so many DVDs? Like QuiGon Josh; that's a lot of movies. Do you watch them while you're at work or something? Or, are you a college student with a good schedule?
Just curious...

Even though I don't like the idea of the altered soundtrack, I am going to buy Happy Birthday To Me at BB for $15.99 minus a $5.00 gift certificate I have.
So, I hope to force my wife to watch it with me on Halloween.

Oh No! I left some out of my list (as I usually do):
Shaun of the Dead (R2 disc 3 times!)
Nightmare Before Christmas
Frankenstein (1932)
Something Wicked This Way Comes
Lost Boys (new edition)
Re-Animator Trilogy
I'm sure there are others, but heck with it. Like I said, I started in September and still have so many I wanted to get through. My marathon may last until Thanksgiving this year

Sadly, though Halloween has become more of an event over the years here in the UK we don't make as good a job of it as you do in the US.
Even more annoyingly, the TV networks have decided to virtually ignore it this year: hardly any channel is showing any horror stuff in celebration (the BBC usually dig out their copy of Halloween for example). This may be because it's on a Sunday this year.
Sky TV are showing a marathon of Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes and there's a scattering of movies, if you look hard; one of the doco channels is showing stuff about ghosts all day and I expect we'll get a Halloween edition of "Most Haunted".
As I adore the early Universal horror movies, I'll be digging out my collection of Dracula/Mummy/Frankenstein/Wolf Man movies and their sequels.
At one time you could hope that one of the Movie Channels would carry something to celebrate but it's just not happening this year. Sigh.
Pity as it's my favourite day of the year. Usually I hole up in one room of the house with an ample supply of snacks, turn the lights out and watch loads of horror movies by candlelight. The rest of the family think that's strange but what do they know?!

i've been trying to bulk up the 'horror/monster' section of my collection the last few months, when i started to get in the habit of watching a horror movie every Saturday night (technically early Sunday morning).
there was a local station buried on the UHF channels when i was a kid, that ran something called Shock Theater at that time, with its own creepy host in a hood ("...so sit back, relax...as much as you can, and watch Shock Theater this evening....Muuwaaahhhaaaa").
its been fun to look forward to that again at the end of every week, so i guess i don't feel under the gun to cram in as many horror movies as i can this week before the spirit of the season evaporates.
still, i will probably try to watch at least one every couple of nights
stuff on deck includes
Lemora
The Sentinel
The Crawling Eye
Blacula
The Haunting
Halloween (still haven't watched the divimax since purchasing it last year)
Dawn Of The Dead (original-Cannes cut)
Kingdom of the Spiders
Invisible Man Returns
Revenge Of The Creature
The Changeling
Salem's Lot
watched Sssss last night.
a lot of fun.

Call it an Asian Halloween this year:
Probably go see The Grudge bigscreen .. just not sure if I can take the remake. Otherwise, the DVDs will be rotating in tune ..
Dark Water
Nang Nak
Tale of Two Sisters
Onibaba
Kaidan
Memento Mori
Versus
... and perhaps Night of the Living Dead to mix it up ..

From: I have always been here.
I just finished SC-1 Season 7 so now I'm free to check out my 'Van Helsing' (didn't see it at the movies) and maybe 'Creature from Black Lagoon' which I have not seen in a good 20 years. Maybe also 'Day of the Dead' which has been sitting on the shelve for 2 years unopened.

While Halloween is not over yet. I have pretty much gone through as many dvds as I could this month. All that is left on Halloween night, are the two Bava pictures on IFC. I hope Twitch of the Death Nerve has good audio, unlike the dvd(which I could'nt make it through). I have never seen the entire film before and really want too.
Here is what I have watched since the last week of September. I originally planned weekly double features,on as many nights as possible. Yet being tired, and not having the time because of my school/work schedule. I only had 1 double feature a week + 1 single film on some nights.
Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight
Psycho / Halloween
The Fog / Salems Lot(original)
Basket Case 3
Frankenstein(1931)
Dawn of the Dead:2004:Unrated
Bride of Frankenstein / THEM!
then last night had a Hellish double feature with a friend of mine.
House of 1000 Corpes/ Cannibal Holocaust
We planned another 'lighter' double feature for Saturday night(Rocky Horror Picture Show and something else). But he was sick, possibly from viewing Holocaust(he had seen it once before last year, and wanted to see it again).
So I put on my own improvised double feature with...
Phantasm/ Dressed To Kill
since I had not viewed those films in a few years either(same with everything else I watched this month!).
