Star Trek: The Original Series - Why buy the whole set?

I'll buy them all because I've always wanted to own the whole original series, only owned one of the old disks (which I paid 3.95 for) and they take a lot less space (I have the space now, but why just waste it). The packaging is sorta goofy, but then so is the show (which is part of why I love it) so I guess it's appropriate.
