Best way to clean discs?

Are you talking about preventive maintenance or actual repair?
The best is not to touch the play side of the discs. If you have to, get an ultra fine microfiber cloth and clean the discs from the center radiating towards the edge, never in circular motion.
Someone mentioned boiling the discs can clean them too (I never try it).
If you have to repair a disc, use a professional resurfacing machine if you mind the look of the disc. If not, you can try the Skip Doctor. A lengthy thread is current at this very topic.

I rent a lot of discs from Netflix, and usually they come to me scratched and dirty! So I just take a paper towel and some windex and clean them - and as for the scratches, I use a CD/DVD wax pencil on the scratches and just wipe them down - works like a charm!

The best way to clean a disc of your own is NOT to clean it.
For rentals, warm to hot water and a dry cotton cloth works miracles. There are tools (previously mentioned) for scrathes....though I have never used them.

But then, a few days ago, I get my new XBox Magazine disc in the mail and the damn thing won't load. I gently clean it but it's still a no-go. Before I request a replacement I thought I would give the boiling water thing a try.
The damn thing works now.
