Will "The Scoundrel" by Ben Hecht ever make it to DVD?

A friend of mine locally has always raved about an obscure movie entitled "The Scoundrel" scripted by Ben Hecht , and made in about 1929/30, and apparently visually stunning. A quick search seems to indicate that it isn't even available as a VHS copy!! I was delighted when it was scheduled for a showing on BBC2 , but at the last minute it was cancelled( !!), and so I have never even managed to catch it on TV, has anyone out there seen this movie and can they spread any light on it??

Whilst on the subject of obscure films, are there any plans afoot to release the similar vintage Janet Gaynor/Charles Farrell movie Keep Your Sunnyside Up?Or the early two color technicolor King of Jazz?
