They better not drop it off the release schedule again.

I picked it up at Blockbuster's the last time it was out, around May.

the only difference is tha the 9-minute cross dressing feature isn't on the current release....Tim Burton wanted it removed....it's in the DVDTalk forum.

Actually saw a copy in Blockbuster today...it was $29.99 though! Is there anyway to tell if its the release with the crossdressing feature on it or if its the to be released version? I didnt even think about it at the time, so I dont know if it indicated the featurette or not.

No way to tell, from what I have ready here. The featurette in question was not listed on the back of the disc other then "and more."

Chances are it's the new one. Of course, there's always that odd chance that it had been sitting in the back room that missed the recall.

One way to find out.... how lucky do you feel?

Why the bump?

It's coming out next week. If you want to check for online pricing, go to dvdpricesearch.com like 68ShelbyGT500KR mentioned. Or keep an eye out in the DVD Bargains forum for B&M's.

So, now that review copies are out and some people have already found this in stores, has anyone been able to confirm that the only change is the dropping of the "CAROL MET LARRY" featurette? Is the easter egg deleted scene still there? What does the second extras menu page look like now that "CAROL MET LARRY" is gone? Is the UPC code the same as the old release? Although Disney revealed that the CAROL MET LARRY feature was the only thing being dropped, you just never know if something else was also behind the recall that they didn't want to mention. Just curious.

I've only come across one review of the new disc so far (at dvdreview). They don't make reference to the recall at all and don't mention the number of deleted scenes or the easter egg. Anyone have any more detailed info or can confirm that there is only one change?

Here's my question ... what did they do with all the recalled ones? Do they actually destroy them? Do they pile up in a warehouse somewhere? It seems either of these would be a huge waste of money for such a trivial item on a DVD with, at best, a strong cult interest.

Good Question. I don't know if we'll ever know the real story here. I mean there had to be a good reason to incur all the costs of a recall.
