Twilight Zone Collection (old) and Walmart

I go to my local Walmart last week and they had the Image "Twilight Zone Collection Vol. 1" for $44. That's the first time I've ever seen the old Twilight Zone at my Walmart. They only had one copy, so I picked it up. I checked the internet when I got home, and apparently it's still a $99.95 list. I thought maybe it was mispriced or a return or something, but sure enough today they had a bunch of them in stock at $44. Is this a mistake? Have they dropped in price? Anyone know the deal?

Dunno about a price drop but it might be a mistake. Maybe someone thought it was the New Twilight Zone. Good price, though!

Since I found out about the remastered versions coming out soon... and this time in season sets in the correct order...I've put buying Twilight Zone Collections on hold until I hear how the new sets are.

49 Disc Set. Entire Series by airdate.

I wish all TV on DVD came out like that.

Huh? What are you talking about? Or is that something that YOU wish would come out? Cause all five collections would be 45 not 49. (Not trying to be a smart ass).

He's including the lost episodes that were just cleaned up I believe.

There was a 49 disc set released that had every episode. It was called the Twilight Zone Gold Edition. Here's a pic from an auction:

RyoHazuki has me covered.

It is a 49 disc set, as there are 4 discs of special features.

There are a few still left on eBay. Search "twilight zone the gold edition", and you will find them. That is where I got mine a while back (before the prices jumped).

I thought I read that although the Gold Edition was legit, it was also on DVD-R's instead of regular pressed DVDs. I'd be a bit concerned about longevity if that were the case since DVD-R media can vary greatly in quality and error-rates and it is more susceptible to environmental problems than standard pressed DVDs.

I believe the Gold Collection was produced by the same wonderful people who were responsible for the My So Called Life lunchbox fiasco.

I posted the info a couple weeks back in the bargains forum. I couldn't pass it up for the price, and I'm not sure why they are the only place on earth selling it for so cheap. I've always wanted to check out TZ since I own the pinball machine and now I can. I hope someday the other sets end up going for that same price!
