To celebrate the release of the Degrassi: The Next Generation Ultimate Box Set for season one, FUNimation Productions, Ltd. is throwing an Ultimate Box Set Signing Party inside the Sam Goody flagship store at the Universal City Walk. The event, to take place Saturday, October 2 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., will feature four actors from season one who can also be seen in the new season of Degrassi: Miriam McDonald (Emma), Aubrey Graham (Jimmy), Melissa McIntyre (Ashley) and Shane Kippel (Spinner). The actors will meet and greet fans and autograph box sets.
"Degrassi: The Next Generation is one of those series that draws you in and never lets go. It has developed a tremendous fan following," said Gen Fukunaga, president of FUNimation.
Degrassi, a fictional teen drama, tackles controversial subjects in a realistic way. The series delves into issues including, eating disorders, safe sex, friendships, self-esteem, physical abuse and terminal illness. Degrassi: The Next Generation airs regularly Friday nights at 8:00 p.m. (ET) and 10:00 p.m. (ET) on The N. The N, the nighttime network for tweens and teens, will kick off a new season of Degrassi: The Next Generation, on Friday, October 1 from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. (ET).
