Great film, and I second the opinion about the hope for an alternate ending... the ending just didn't fit Cruise's character, but oh well, I loved it.

As a dvdtalker who lives in L.A. and can walk to half of the places they shot this at, It's a must buy. I love how the city looks and feels in this film.

Tis a must buy for me as well. Definitely one of the best action thrillers I've seen in a while.

I enjoyed this movie but I think the ending let me down a bit. It was still fun to watch though. I think a different ending would be a great extra if they filmed one.
I'm curious .. what didn't you like about the ending ?

btw ... Collateral was one of the very best movies this year. The cinematography was outstanding.

I do not think that the ending fit Tom's character. I was not satisfied and it left me feeling like the director/writer or whoever had the final say about it sorta sold out to please everyone and write the cliche happy ending. It didn't seem realistic to me that this bad ass ex-military guy gets thousands of bullets shot at him all night while hitting targets within centimeters of each other and then is killed by someone who has never seen a gun to save a person he doesn't even really know. It just seemed too far fetched and unoriginal.

btw, I really enjoyed the movie just not the ending

I think it fits. He was hit in the ear first. That interfered his equilibrium sense, so he couldn't aim accurately.

Spoiler:
Not to mention he has a pattern. two in the chest, one in the head. When you get the dvd you will notice that there was indeed two shots in the chest area... only the metro rail metal door took those shots. Being consistant doesn't always pay off.

precisely. It's a beautiful bit of irony.

Spoiler:
It is exactly because Vincent (Tom Cruise) is such an excellent marksman, that all his shots went into the train door. And it is because Max (Jamie Foxx) is inexperienced, that his grouping was much wider and hence at least one of his shots went wide enough to actually hit Max.

Dang, I never thought of it that way. That makes it a bit better in my book. BTW, the coverart is up at DVDAnswers.

Stop leeching the image off their site directly. it screws things up and not to mention is not always the best thing to do

host it yourself because to those who haven't been to dvdanswers, it just shows up as a blue dvdanswer image.

The new cover is just the one sheet poster of cruise instead of a combined one sheet of foxx and cruise combined.
