Any word on when we'll get 'Maiden England' on DVD?

THAT-would be awesome. There are a lot of other bands I can think of who deserve the same attention as well...

Would love to get some early concert from the Scorpions as well. With Uli Roth!

I'd rather have Live After Death myself.

I saw this one at Best Buy today, but decided to wait on it.

Don't expect that. Its only 2.0 Stereo on this set.

I saw em on both tours and I must say that the stage set for the Seventh Son tour was a lot 'cooler'.

You lucky bastard. I didn't get to see Maiden with Bruce until last year. I was about 7 rows from the stage though. The whole time I could not grasp the fact that I was really there. It was like I was watching Rock in Rio or something.

To me, Maiden will always be locked in the 80s. I don't think I could go see them any longer. Just wouldn't feel right.

It will almost certainly be released on Volume Two, as well as the footage filmed for Live After Death I assume.

I picked up Volume 1: The Early Days for about $12.00 shipped from DDD. I think this 2DVD set is amazing although quality is mostly only average. It seems most of this footage was shot on videotape, and in the case of the Rushkin Arms footage from 4/80 on DVD2 only a videotape copy of the original videotape exists any longer. One camera from the back of the club, one audience mic to capture sound...it's still fricking amazing.

If you plan on buying this set as a demo of your home theatre system you may as well pass. In my opinion the quality is only a step up from VHS, but it has been remastered and cleaned up, according to the liner notes they did what they could. No chance for true 5.1, it seems these shows were not multitracked. All that was available was 2-track stereotapes, and they can't be remixed.

Another bump! Got a hold of "Early Days" Part 2, actually known as LIVE AFTER DEATH. I immediately grabbed it, having thought it was just the Live After Death concert that so many have been waiting to hit DVD. The fact that they used the album's great artwork only furthered my confusion, but the sticker on the front stated it as such:
"At last on DVD with 5.1 surround sound remix
The legendary show filmed at
Long Beach, California 1985
DOUBLE DISC DVD
with 5 hrs of full-on Maiden
Part 2 of THE HISTORY
OF IRON MAIDEN"

Without a doubt, one of the best metal album covers of all time!!:

the LIVE AFTER DEATH dvd is a definite let down- id recomend you save your cash on this one. the video and audio quality is amateurish, at best. Not to mention that these concert performances are not their best efforts -

Now Rock In Rio on the other hand is the opposite - awesome sound, and killer performance from all the members. one of my favorite concert dvds

The editing on Rock in Rio is horrible. They don't spend more than 2 seconds on the same shot. I haven't seen LAD on DVD yet, but at least it doesn't do the stupid editing.
