Return of the Jedi (Spoiler)
Did anybody else notice or recall the ending with Ben, Yoda and Anikan being as Anikan as an old man not a young man in his twenties before he turned to the dark side?
I know it's a small change but I could have sworn Anikan was shown as an old man, not as a young man in him prime.

Ah. well it was the actor who plays anakin in the prequels. So the assumption is that it's a new edit.
Here. a "few" other folks noticed it:
http://dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread....hreadid=385939
that is just one of the many threads. Before the Star wars sub forum there was a lot of SW threads in dvdtalk that mentioned this changed long before it was ever released on dvd.

As you may gather from the above, yes, it's a new change... And for better or worse, it's likely to become the most hotly-debated change (if it isn't already) since the whole Greedo-shoots-first deal...

This thread is funny.
First, how can there be a spoiler for a film that is more than two decades old and any actual film lover would have seen about a thousand times? I'm operating under the assumption that we, as DVDtalkers, are all film lovers here. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Second, you actually didn't notice that in the original versions, Darth Vader is played by an old guy? I mean, were you like blind the 976 times you saw ROTJ before? The old guy's name is Sebastian Shaw, if you must know. Though, the guy in the black Vader suit was actually David Prowse.
Third, you were actually unaware who the new 'young guy' is? See, there are these things called prequels that have come out the last few years. Perhaps you heard about those? You know, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Stars Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones? Yes? No? The young guy's name is Hayden Christiensen, if you must know. He's arguably one of the worst actors on the planet, but you know that, because you've seen these so-called 'prequels'. Right? RIGHT?
So have you been living under a rock the last 30 years?
I apologize if that sounded harsh. But it needed to be said.

The other differences from the original I could live with, but when I saw this young guy in his twenties with long wavy hair standing there with Ben and Yoda, it left a really bad taste in my mouth.
It doesn't make any sense. Why should Anikan be allowed to go back and be young and sexy in the afterlife if Ben and Yoda couldn't do it?
I liked seeing the dignified Sebastian Shaw standing there with the other two. You had a chance to see him looking much better than he did when he died even if he was the same age. You recognized who it was supposed to be.
Hayden didn't even look like he looked in clones because he had long wavy locks. It wasn't until I watched the special edition disc feature on the making of part III that I could tell for sure it was the new guy. That's really dumb. There wouldn't have been anything wrong with letting Anikan be middle-aged in the afterlife.
It makes me want to burn my Beta recordings from cable years ago to DVD and forget this "Special Edition" mumbo jumbo.

So here's the logic:
When you die as a Jedi and are good your spirit goes on in looks as you were good. So if you grow into an old fart and die your Jedi spirit will be forever old looking.
So when you are a young hunky Jedi it is best to go to the Darkside and live it up from age 22 till 70 and then turn good and die or get killed and you will live again looking young & sexy forever!!
What a cool idea Lucas!!

If you really think someone can't be considered a film lover without watching ROTJ a thousand times I really am not sure how to respond to that.
