Tales from the Crypt Series in 2005!!!

I got this from Arrow in the head. Supposingly will be released within 6 months. I hope all this is true.!! Been waiting for this, for a lonnnnng time!!
I wonder if this is wil be released by seasons, entire catalog or best of?

John Kassir:
For all of you “Tales From the Crypt” fans who have wondering when the episodes will become available on DVD, the wait is almost over. Kassir talked about how Warner Bros. will be releasing a special edition box set of the series that will be released within six months time. He did not reveal what the special features would include though. Also, he has still not yet been contacted from the studio to do audio commentary for the set. Audio Commentary without the Cryptkeeper? That’s like having sex without the orgasm!! (That statement was for the men; us women are used to that disappointment.)

It seems like having an audio commentary by John Kassir would be kind of pointless. He only did the intros, (aside from appearances in a few episodes, but maybe I'm misremembering that). It's not like he would have much to add.

Does anyone know how many episodes there were per season? If i recalled, not alot. Wasn't it like 10 per season or something to that degree?
Maybe they will combine seasons.

a question about the new DVD with both Demon Knight and Bordello of Blood. Are the 2 movies on the same side of the disc or is it dual layered?

yeah I heard about that about a month ago and I belive it to be 100 percent bullshit. For 1 warner doesnt own the rights to the series. 2nd in the statement supposubly kassir made he mentioned there was a 3rd tales from the crypt movie that hasn't been released. You would think someone in the crypt field would know correct info. The 3rd movie was called ritual and was released over 4 years ago. Also wasn't considered a crypt movie for the fact the movie sucked so much they didn't want to spend any extra money for the crypt liscense and kassir.

I just got a response from Serena herself. The one that went to festival. This is what she had to say. I hope this helps. We basically will have to wait and see of course, but i feel good about the situation then say months ago.

Hey Gary,

I was the one who reported from the Festival of Fear, and I can assure that I did not make up anything for the report. All my Tales of the Crypt info came from John Kassir and I didn't question the validity of his statements because he is the cryptkeeper, and I thought what he said...goes. I just reported what he said. But I'm pretty sure that the DVDS will in fact be coming out early next year. If you have any other questions please feel free to email me!

Ciao!!!
Serena Whitney

Great news! I only saw a handful of episodes when they were first broadcast and I will eagerly add this to my collection.

I'm not doubting her but I think kassir is full of shit.
Why would they even contact kassir unless they needed him for a documentary or commentary.

Yes, if he does it as "John Kassir", but if he does a commentary "in character" as the Cryptkeeper, making lots of bad puns along the way, etc. it might be interesting.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but has anyone heard any new info? I haven't found jack about this anywhere. Just another internet rumor? I finally picked up the Cryptkeeper's Deadly Duo pack and that made the longing for the series even worse!

AMC used to play re-runs a year or so ago during their Friday Night Frights or whatever. Don't know if they still do; I haven't watched in a while.
