Batman SE is in the works!!

According to thedigitalbits.com

"Warner is currently working on a box set of all four live-action Batman films, which will include a new Batman: Special Edition. The set is being timed for release to coincide with the new Batman Begins film next year."

Thank you Warner Bros. I've been waiting forever for a special edition for the first film. I really hope that the discs will eventually be sold separately, like the superman discs.

Class316 09-23-04 09:10 PM

ahhh!! I don't want the 3rd and 4th movies!

Big Worms 09-23-04 09:13 PM

I can't wait!

Cornelius1047 09-23-04 09:15 PM

So, only the first movie is getting the Special Edition treatment? I would've liked to have one for Batman Returns as well. Don't really mind Batman Forever, but could do without owning Batman & Robin. They should definitely sell 'em separately.

Yippie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

conscience 09-23-04 09:28 PM

I highly doubt it, but a Nicholson, Keaton and Burton commentary would be so great.

But I am just glad a SE is coming.

NaturalMystic79 09-23-04 09:38 PM

I just want the first Batman! This is good news.

Artman 09-23-04 09:57 PM

Just want the fist two in SE's. Would consider Forever if it was the alternate longer cut.

PopcornTreeCt 09-23-04 10:07 PM

I had heard all the Batmans were being worked on. We'll see what happens.

digitalfreaknyc 09-23-04 10:22 PM

shit. i hope they're available separately. i don't want B&R

jaeufraser 09-23-04 11:10 PM

I'd be happy if they did a Alien bit and did massive special editions for all four films. Yes, even Batman and Robin. Though, for that film I'd want them to explain what went wrong, and have a commentary of George Clooney mercilessly calling the movie awful (which he has stated before).

I do hope Returns gets a special edition too though. I'd double dip on that and the first one (though Returns is still my fave).

diespine 09-23-04 11:12 PM

i would only get it if the prince sound track was taken out, from what i heard tim burton did not want it and i think it sucks, i like prince but that music just does not go with the film

PopcornTreeCt 09-23-04 11:40 PM

I think the Prince soundtrack goes with the Joker really well.

"Batman Soundtrack?"
"Chuck it!"

fumanstan 09-24-04 12:05 AM

I'd love to see special editions of all 4, particularly Batman and Batman Forever. I already own Batman and Batman Returns, but i'd definitely double dip.

RyoHazuki 09-24-04 12:22 AM

I wouldnt mind Batman Forever if it had the extended cut.

Flynn 09-24-04 01:43 AM

So, does anyone know for CERTAIN whether an SE will be forthcoming for "Batman Returns"? If not, I'm going to get what's on the market now - I've been holding off, but I'd really like to have it now.

Fok 09-24-04 02:10 AM

good news, glad I'm holding out from buying these.

The only commentary that could matter: Mike Nelson! (Then what the hell - get Kevin Murphy, Joel Hodgson, Trace Beaulieu, etc, etc on the commentary track).

If they did that. I would buy the movie in a hot second.

DVDFreaker 09-24-04 03:03 AM

If it comes together, I'm gonna sell the last 2 and keep Batman and Batman Returns, I really hope Batman Returns has a special edition treatment since Batman Returns is better than Batman.

QuiGonJosh 09-24-04 04:02 AM

I aint buyin no frickin boxset just to get a SE of a movie I've seen 100 times...no sir e...I did that once (Robocop) and I aint frickin doin it again!

DrOBoogie1 09-24-04 06:38 AM

I repeat my promise to Warner Bros.: I'll buy the whole Batman SE box set (including the dreadful 3rd and 4th films) if they work things out with Fox so the 1966 Batman TV series can be released on DVD in 2005.

steebo777 09-24-04 06:50 AM

Good news for the first two films. I just hope I don't need to buy the whole set.

Pelayu 09-24-04 06:55 AM

can't wait!

Geofferson 09-24-04 08:26 AM

Makes sense. Glad to hear it.
