Criterion's Cassavetes Box? Anybody get this?
Would have shipped this with Star Wars, but need something to get free shipping on Eternal Sunshine from Amazon with. Anyway, curious if anyone picked this up as the antithesis to the Star Wars set on the 21st? What's the packaging, keepcases or digipacks like the Truffaut/Doinel set? Any overall impressions? Did this even really come out, or was it delayed because I have yet to see a review or mention of it anywhere this week?

And gutwrencher, my condolences about your friend.

I'm curious about this set as well. I just have waaaaay too many unwatched dvds right now.
Gut- sorry about your loss. Just keep the good memories close and hang in there dude.

DVDBeaver posted comparisons for A Woman Under the Influence and Shadows. They make a couple negative remarks about the transfer for A Woman Under the Influence (i.e. too red.) They also have pictures of the packaging. Unfortunately, it looks like the flimsy kind of digipak used for the Doinel and BRD sets.

I got this at Planet the other day, for only $81 - what a great deal: Five movies, nine discs, 64 page booklet. Who says Cirterions are expensive?
This is my vote for dvd set of the year (until Battle of Algiers, anyways), just like I felt their Fassbinder set was last year's best.
