Quality of these Chaplin shorts?

I saw this at Best Buy, and I was curious to know if anyone has these or has seen them, and if so, how the quality is.

I have a six-disc collection that has a ton of Chaplin shorts, but the music and video quality is pretty horrible. Thanks for any help.

Sorry, I've never seen this DVD, but as it is a Madacy release, the chances are the quality is as bad as it gets.

It's Madacy at their usual standard -- in other words, a complete waste of time and money. Brentwood has a 10 dvd set that is still nothing great, but beats the heck out of this junk. I'd recommend the Image 7 dvd set of Mutual and Essanay shorts, and the Warner releases, which have some PAL to NTSC issues, but are in another league quality-wise.

By the by, if you're interested in Chaplin's Mutual & Essanay films, the Image box set is getting a price cut on 9/28, according to the thread below.

I hadn't heard of the studio, and the set actually appeared to be quite nice. But I guess that's that. Thanks for saving me some cash.

Just thank your lucky stars that you weren't around for DVD's early days. Madacy was the first label to put out a copy of METROPOLIS. It was dirt cheap. Everyone and their monkey bought a copy. And it was an absolute, unwatchable mess.

Madacy is the spawn of satan... they are the bottom of the barrel for public domain companies (a group that already includes more than its share of bottom-feeders). Learn the studio name, commit it to memory, and avoid at all costs.

Madacy makes VHS look like a technical leap forward.

You would get more entertainment watching a cat cough up hair balls.
