Garden State DVD Dec 28th (Back Cover Add) Page 3
We, zach-braff.com, have talked to Elizabeth Burke and Cristi Lima. Cristi is the Regional Publicity contact person for "Garden State" Elizabeth Burke handles the Fox Searchlight DVD/video releases. They both tell us that the target release date for "Garden State" is December 28th. We have asked Burke more detail information on the DVD. We are waiting for the answer now.
From talking with Zach Braff and info on his Blog this is what we know is on the dvd
Two Commentary tracks, one with Braff, Portman and Sarsgaard (sp) the other with Zach and I believe the Producer.
Trialers, Deleted scenes and Behind the scenes clips
There was about 1hr 20min cut out before it was shown at Sundance, other 13-15 min cut out after Sundance.
if all those scenes will be on the disc we are not sure
At a Q&A in Atlanta, Zach told us "We have a lot we wanted on the DVD but we can't get it all on. Fox is only giving us a one disc release."
Sorry if already posted

I know there is at least one scene of Ian and Braff cut out. I would have liked to seen it but Braff said it wasn't really needed. That it was at a point that needed to more about Braff/Portman and not Braff and Ian.
Here is a pic of it

This is my favorite movie from this year. Hell, it's probably my favorite of the last several years at least. Too bad they couldn't add a second disc to include everything that Braff wanted, but I'm still very excited about this release.

three days after xmas? isn't that a shitty time for stuff to come out?
Anyways I love this movie and can't wait to own it. I wouldn't mind seeing a Garden State: EE with some of the cut stuff thrown back in. Or have a branching option to watch the cut stuff or the orig copy.

Probably my 3rd favorite movie of 2004 after Kill Bill Vol.2, & Sky Captain (well 4th if you cound Shaun of the Dead as 2004). Whatever ranking, it's a great movie & I think will be a huge hit on DVD w/ a lot of buzz & not everyone getting to see it in theaters.
Also, VERY glad that Portman is on the commentary as she is very funny & usually had a lot to say.

I got this reply from the marketing manager handling the release of Garden State
"Just to name a few, the following will be contained on the DVD:
2 commentaries (includes Zach Braff and Natalie Portman)
Deleted scenes with optional commentary
Bloopers and outtakes
A "making of" featurette
"
We asked Zach about 2months ago about a two disc release.
He told us
"No plans for it, but if the DVD does well and fans are asking for more, I am willing for a two disc Specail Edition. If Fox Searchlight is willing to do it, I'll be going along..its more up to them, than up to me at this point"

I'm all over this release. With the exception of next week's Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, this is my most anticipated DVD release of the year, from this point on. Definitely my second favorite movie of this year.
And, yes, I'll double-dip, if need be. I'm sure Fox is listening. Cha-Ching!
