New Anchor bay titles for 2005

Anchor Bay announced several planned new titles for 2005, including the following on many people's wish lists: Crime Story, Season Two (Fall 05), Freaked, Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, Turk 182, Race With the Devil... good stuff.

I saw this at Davis DVD.com, but I don't know how to link it here, and their site doesn't let you cut and paste. Check out the details at Davis DVD (or probably Anchor Bay's website, too).

Currently the link is

http://www.davisdvd.com/news/daily_news.html

But I'm guessing that will change in a day or so.

Oh, and the link to Anchor Bay's coming attractions list is http://www.anchorbayentertainment.com/future/

Fantastic!

DMCL is one of my favorite films - great car chases.

Also psyched for Turk 182 & Race with the Devil

09.18.04 ANCHOR BAY WATCH
Anchor Bay Entertainment, which just recently finalized a new distribution deal with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, has announced a number of new and exciting titles for future release. Due throughout the next year are The Beastmaster: Divimax Special Edition (new hi-def transfer, all the previous extras plus new interviews with Don Coscarelli, Marc Singer, Tanya Roberts), The British War Collection (box set including The Cruel Sea, The Dam Busters, Went the Day Well, The Colditz Story, The Ship That Died of Shame and Against the Wind), Crime Story: Season Two (for Fall 2005), Dead & Breakfast, Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin in Death Hunt, Peter Fonda in Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, The Ealing Comedy Collection (box set including The Titfield Thunderbolt, A Run For Your Money, Tight Little Island, Passport to Pimlico and The Maggie), Eyewitness starring Sigourney Weaver, the cult classic Freaked (finally and with tons of extras - summer 2005), Free Enterprise (new transfer and new extras), 80's musical The Pirate Movie, Race With the Devil, the recent reunion film Return to the Batcave, the not-so-super superhero movie The Specials and Turk 182 (hell yes!). Expect more information on all of these in the coming year.

In other goings-on, Anchor Bay has signed a joint venture with CameraPlanet Pictures to form the new "FeatureDoc" DVD label. This new imprint plans to release about twelve documentary titles per year, with the initial slate of six titles starting on October 26th and spread throughout the first quarter of 2005. Expect more on this, along with specific titles and acquisitions, soon.

Damn... Some good titles but I was hoping that they would finally add Meet the Feebles to their release schedule.

If it doesn't have the Easter Eggs from the original, then count me out.

Actually, this is AB's first release of Free Enterprise. The first DVD was produced by another studio.

Some great titles there. I can't wait for Class of 1984, Greatest American Hero and Hunter.

It looks like AB isn't planning on putting out many 80's horror films anymore, which is a shame.
