Question about Back to the Future Trilogy DVD framing problem

Hi, I read that the first release of Back to the Future has a framing issue with 2 of the discs.. I just got one with no indicaton if it was the fixed version.. Is the only way to tell is to open it and check it out?

Also, I phoned the Universal number and got a recorded message mentioning a replacement with the Borne Identity DVD.. What issues did this disc have?
Thanks
John

I'm not sure how to tell, but if they are indeed defective, you mail them back and they'll exchange the damaged discs free of charge (and not all that slowly either).

We had a big thread on this nearly 2 years ago --- try a search for "BTTF" or something.

Somewhere I belive it should have a V2 or something like that on it, its been so long that my memory is fuzzy on it though.

There would be a "V2" in small text at the bottom of the disc. If it is in fact the corrected set, there should be a "V2" somewhere on the back of the slipcase. I believe Ojam is right, next to the upc. I doubt you have the corrected versions though. So you might as well just open it, find out they're misframed, and do the return.

here's a real good page about the Framing Fiasco and what you need to do to get your replacement discs: http://www.angelfire.com/film/bttf2/

I was waiting to replace my disc but since ive never watched them since day 1 when I bought it, ive lived w/ the framing problem. Never would have noticed it unless someone here said something.
