Winds of War - Left Hanging!

Hey is "War and Remembrance" going to be available again? Just purchased the "Winds of War" boxed set and I thought it was just great. But it only ends at Pearl Harbour! I see that the sequel was available at one time in a huge boxed set but any news on the re-release of a better priced re-issue?

I don't see why they'd release it. As expensive as BOTH the War and Remembrance sets are, there's no need to re-issue.
But I'd love to see them. I, too, bought Winds of War and loved it, but in no way will shell out 100 for the first War and Remembrance set and another 100 for the second set.

Wow, I guess you both haven't done a search on on-line DVD sites for the titles.

Amazon listing for Part 1

Amazon listing for Part 2

DeepDiscount's listing for Part 1

DeepDiscount's listing for Part 2

NOTE: These are totally new re-releases (8/24/04) with a much cheaper MSRP ($89.95). DeepDiscount's price is now about $30 cheaper than it used to be which is $64.80.

EDIT: Just noticed that original poster is from Ottawa. In that case, the re-issues aren't out yet, (9/21/04). But here's the listings for Amazon.ca:

Part 1

Part 2

Both listed for CDN$90.99 as opposed to the CDN$135-173 prices they used to be.

I just recently bought the reissued War and Remembrance sets from Digital Eyes. They are well worth the reduced price. With coupons and double frequent buyer points (that promotion is over) they cost me about $55 for each part.
