Anyone go through DVD collecting phases?

My phases are based on the week's new releases. If it's a slow week, I'll look for some older catalog titles.

The only phase I have gone through based on discs themselves is a recent interest in acquiring full-bitrate DTS discs. Also, I decided to catch up on my classics with my last CH membership (Lawrence of Arabia, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Doctor Zhivago).
I have definitely gone through phases in my purchasing habits, based more on price than genre, with each phase getting cheaper (and/or higher quality discs). Blockbuster PVDs at buy 2 get 1 free, Walmart $5.50 bin, $12.88/$12.99 2-packs at Walmart and Costco, pawn shops (some great deals), Columbia House with better codes.
My latest phase has been hunting for rare OOP discs at places like Gamestop, EB Games. I have gotten some steals there also - higher price than pawn shops, but I have gotten rare discs such as Karate Kid, Mr Pink Reservoir Dogs, Romper Stomper 2-disc, Toy Story (Toy Box Disc 1) for $10-12, Matinee for $8.
